Good Monday to you, and thanks for coming by today!
I'll start my musings with last Friday. I needed to run an errand for my neighbor, Anne, who is up in New York with her kids, for Paul's memorial service. I got that done for her, filled up my car with gasoline, and was excited that I had some points and got $3.97 a gallon! I also stopped by the Children's Home and donated those four bags of clothing I purged from my closet earlier in the week. Done!! When I got home, I did some much-needed cleaning! Also done!
There was a party to attend on Saturday! I picked up my friend, Wendy, and off we went to Tenoroc Public Use Area, Florida Fish & Wildlife (where I worked part-time for three years after Joe died). My former boss, Danon, his wife, Mali, and his daughter, Morgan, were celebrating the birth of Morgan's son, her birthday, and Mali's birthday at the Picnic Lake Pavilion. Here are some photos I took of the celebrations...
The star of the day, and only 3 weeks old!
Well attended and beautifully decorated by Mali.
Left to right... Morgan (new mom & birthday girl), Monika, Danon,
and Wendy in the blue top.
Cupcakes and fruit. Lunch was catered by Fresh Kitchen.
It was delicious, but I forgot to get a photo of all the catered food.
Mallory (Danon's youngest) and Mali
My plate of dessert & fruit.
I held the baby and also got to feed him his bottle!!
I turned him over to Wendy. I think everyone there got to hold him!
He was so good and so unconcerned about it all.
Morgan and Mali are opening gifts...
Mallory had an art project for guests. There was also a music/yoga thing that happened
before Wendy, and I got there. We also left before the art project started. Not our thing,
but well-planned, and I think many folks enjoyed both.
Wendy and I walked down to the lake. Took a photo of the pavilion from there.
It was a lovely day. We arrived around 11:00 and left just after 2:00. It was fun seeing Tenoroc after a few years of being away. I hadn't been back since I quit my job two years ago.
Yesterday was church and my two loads of laundry! I have a pretty chill week ahead. Lunch with Shirley on Wednesday, Bible study and dinner with the Mas Verde group on Thursday, and that's all that I have on my calendar, so far! I'm still walking with my neighbors most mornings, of course.
It's hard to even think about it being Memorial Day weekend coming up already! I still wonder what happened to April, and May is nearly gone.
Thanks for your visit today! Wishing you a blessed week ahead!
Peace and Hugs! God bless the families of our lost heroes...

ReplyDeleteHow nice to be able to hold a newborn. Dang they're cute! Looks like a fun event with some good food and desserts. Dumb question, do the alligators eat the fish in the ponds and lakes? Snakes? Oh my, I totally wouldn't go near the water and definitely not fishing.
