Hello, blogging friends! Another Monday has rolled around! Hoping you all had a good weekend!
I had lunch with my dear friend, Shirley, on Friday. We met at Glory Days, and we both had the Friday Fish Fry. My meal wasn't as good as it usually is when we go there. Shirley enjoyed hers, but I think I'll try something else from the menu next time. We did sit there and chat for nearly two hours. It's nice that we don't feel hurried to give up our table there.
On Saturday morning, neighbors Susan and Sandy, and I left Lakeland for Lake Wales and their annual Pioneer Days Craft Fair. Lake Wales is east of Lakeland, and it took just under an hour to get there. It was a fun morning. Here are a few photos I took...
We left Lake Wales just after noon and decided to stop in Bartow on the way home for lunch. We ended up at Perkins, where Susan and I had 'breakfast' and Sandy enjoyed a soup and salad combo. We were happy with our choices and enjoyed more chit chat.
I went to church yesterday and started my two loads of laundry when I got home. Neighbor Anne came over to chat for a bit. She is still parking in my driveway while their newly painted driveway dries and is safe to drive on (this coming Saturday). When they can park at home again, I will have my driveway done and will park over there while mine is being done and has time to dry completely.
I will go to the dentist this morning (well, noon) for my six-month check-up. I'm not expecting any problems, so fingers crossed they don't find anything!
Wishing you all a good week ahead!! Thanks for your visit!

Pioneer days looks like fun! But, wow - it was windy. I think the pineapple bacon salsa sounds wonderful.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for you and Ann to work out having driveways done and taking turns parking like you did.
Wonderful photos, Terri! I love how you captured the gusts of wind in the Spanish moss. I could almost feel the breeze. Glad you had such a super weekend, my friend.
ReplyDeleteI like boiled peanuts but it seems people either love them or hate them. Cherry butter sounds good! It looks like you had a very nice weekend. Enjoy the week ahead!
ReplyDeleteWell, it looked like you got a few nice things at the fair. Can't say I like boiled peanuts either.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely time you had with Shirley, it is good to not feel rushed from your table.
ReplyDeleteThe craft fair looks like fun, even in the wind. I don't know how I would feel about the boiled peanuts. Yum to the yummies you brought home! I do like the sound of the pineapple bacon salsa.
How fun, and I love your "souvenirs"! Isn't this the same crafts fair that Danon's wife worked last year? I enjoy boiled peanuts, just once in a while; unfortunately, Tom isn't fond of them and they turn "bad" in short order if not consumed.
ReplyDeletePS - In the 70's and 80's I spent more time in Bartow than I could count. Ron's parents and sister lived there but I don't remember Perkins.
Not Danon's wife, but her friend Monika. She didn't have a booth this year, but it is the same craft fair. We moved to Polk County in 1989 and Perkins has been at the corner of 98 and 60 since we moved down. It is stand-alone in front of a shopping center there.
