September 29th: Monday Musings...

Hmmmm...  Let me think...

Thanks for stopping by to visit on this last Monday of September!!  Good golly!  Where did September go.  For that matter, where did the summer go?!!

Last Friday, I went to dinner with a lovely group of women from my church.  We used to do that every couple of months, but our leader quit leading, the next one had to move away, and we just got a new Women's Ministry Leader, so the fun has again begun!

I always order spaghetti and meat sauce when I eat at Il Forno.  This time, I asked them to toss in some fresh spinach.  They tossed in a bunch of chopped spinach, and it was way too much spinach.  I won't suggest a change next time.  I do it at home, often, and it is lovely.  I ate half and left it there.  My table-mates laughed about me having Popeye's muscles!  LOL

This is an easy week for me.  I don't have an appointment until Wednesday, when I meet with my insurance agent about my 2026 Medicare coverage.  There are changes to my current plan that don't sit well with me, so I think a change will be necessary.  Matt is a good guy whom I trust, but I also run it by my brother-in-law (licensed in Ohio & Georgia) to make sure it makes sense to him.  Thanks to Greg!

Thursday is Bible Study with our Pastor, and dinner with my Mas Verde group.  Other than picking up Anne from the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa sometime on the weekend, that's it so far.

Speaking of Anne, I took her to Tampa after church yesterday.  On Saturday, I went to the Visitation for my friend's husband at Resurrection Catholic.  She gave me a big hug and asked for my phone number so we can meet for lunch.  She seemed to be doing okay.  Al was not well, and was 91.  God rest his soul!  I hope Lucille calls me!  We met back in the early 90s, when I was the Business Manager at Santa Fe Catholic High School and she was the art teacher.  Her hubby and my Joe were in Rotary and they golfed now and then.  Joe and I used to go to Resurrection, and it was nice to get hugs from a couple of other folks I hadn't seen in ages, who asked how I was doing.

I did get dusting and cat-hair patrol taken care of on Saturday, and my usual laundry yesterday.  There is a level of peace that goes with routine.

That's all I've got for now!  Thanks again for your visit and comments!

Peace and Hugs!

Open Bible Info indicates that there are 34 Bible verses
related to the concept of "routine".  Here is one...

Genesis 8:22:  While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat,
summer and winter, day and night shall not cease.

  1. So, speaking of to much (not spinach, LOL) I asked my husband who made the gravy yesterday why it was so runny, he added too much water. It just kind of ruined it for me, lol. Sorry about your experience. ---wishing you a lovely day my friend.

  3. I never think to add spinach to mine, but will have to try that. I'm glad your ladies group is back together. I had so many appointments last week and am glad this week looks lighter. Have a great day Terri!

    1. I toss a nice handful of fresh spinach into the boiling pasta and drain it all together. They put the chopped spinach in with the meat and it was way too much and the taste was too bitter that way.

  5. That looks like a fun meal out with your friends from church. Good idea to add spinach to your spaghetti - just not too much! :)
I find the fact that there are so many verses related to routine so interesting. But it makes sense. God is a God of order, not disarray!

  6. You had a busy weekend! Nice picture of your church friends. I love spinach! Sorry it was too much for you. You're so sweet to take Anne back and forth to Tampa, but then again, you're just plain SWEET!! Thank you for letting us park a car in your driveway on Sundays!

  7. "There is a level of peace that goes with routine." I absolutely love this, my friend. You put into words what I feel so strongly about. I adore your background! Have a good not-so-busy week!

  8. There certainly is a sense of peace that a routine can engender, Terri. I do love those days when I can stick to mine. Blessings, and good luck with the medical meeting!

  9. I love throwing spinach in but I wouldn’t want too much either.
My foray into the Medicare plans and all made my head spin. I have asked the guy who helped me to look at Mom’s Rex plan. It doubled in price. He has already said all are troublesome at the moment.
I thrive on routine for my chores. It is how I keep up with a little routine each day.

  10. Gosh, what a large ladies group you belong to! (If we even have 12, that's a lot!) I love spinach, but paired with pasta doesn't sound especially appetizing. I'll have to ask my pasta-loving hubby. 100% agree with peace found in routine!

  11. That is a huge group - HOW FUN! So jealous. Can you ever have too much spinach? lol. If you hear any big changes for Medicare, would you let us girls know on here. I don't have an agent.
