Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 619

From this Side of the Pond

1. What gives you energy?  What takes it away?  Energy comes from the people in my life, a good cup of coffee in the morning, something fun to look forward to, and a good night's sleep.  What takes it away is drama, sadness, or a restless night...

2. How often do you shop for clothes?  Rarely.  What accessory do you always wear?  I always wear earrings and my watch.

3. What's something free that you feel grateful for?  Fresh air, my faith...

4. Breakfast, lunch, dinner...which meal of the day do you enjoy most? What's your go-to comfort food?  I only eat one "big" meal a day, and it is either lunch or dinner... or lupper.  My favorite comfort food is pasta.

5. This week, the world remembers the tragic events of 9/11. Do you mark the day in any way? How do historical events shape your perspective on your personal challenges?  I don't mark the day, except to respond to posts on Facebook when they appear in my feed.  I do remember where I was and the horror of what it meant to our country and the world.  Historical events do shape us all in many ways.  How we process them and how we move forward will be different for each of us.  I always wonder how people without faith can function, especially through hard times.

6. Insert your own random thought here.  I mention my love of British TV often here, and just want to let you know my latest marathon on Tubi is "Portrait Artist of the Year".  Soon, I will be moving to "Landscape Artist of the Year".  They are similar to the British Baking Show, only for artists.  I'm loving it.  Some of them can be found on YouTube.

Peace and Hugs!

Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee:
How great thou art!  How great thou art!

  1. How great Thou art, How Great Thou art!!! Great answers today. I am not familiar with those tv shows. I may have to look them up when I have some "free time" on the TV, which is rare now that football season has started back again! LOL. I'm sure I could look them up here on the computer, however, so maybe I will. My accessories are also my watch and my rings, and a gold bracelet that belonged to my mother. I seldom wear earrings except to church, since my ears are not pierced and it is so hard to find comfortable clip earrings. I often end up pulling them off half way through church. LOL. Have a wonderful day my friend!

  2. I enjoyed your answers today. I love wearing earrings but am allergic to many of them.
Those artist shows sound interesting. You always find good things for us to watch.
    Great song choice today.

  3. I haven't heard of the show, but it sounds like one I would like. I so agree with your thoughts on faith in hard times. I truly don't know how people navigate this upside down world without it. Hope you're having a great day! ps.completely unrelated but I will be in Tampa next July 4 for a wedding...maybe we can arrange lunch or a meet up. Just putting it out there now while I'm thinking about it : )

  5. I love that song too Terri. God is great and we are blessed to be in the US and able to practice our religion. I do think of 9-11 on that day (hope Mackenzie is not born tomorrow - but we will see - lol). I might have to try those British Shows. So, your favorite food is pasta - I would not have guessed that.

  6. I rarely shop for clothes these days and usually try to order what I do need online. Jeans are my go-to every-day wear. And having coffee in the morning is a must-have. Enjoyed your answers, Terri. Blessings!

  7. 100% for coffee ... and something to look forward to! The only pieces of jewelry I wear anymore are my rings (lazy Myra!), and prefer to get my good clothes online or at a 'better' estate sale. Thankfully(?) our lack of good closet space keeps my impulses in check. We love YouTube.

  8. One of my top 5 favorite hymns. I wear earrings everyday and feel naked without them. I loved wearing watches but stopped. I keep meaning to get back to wearing one. I tried a smart watch but returned it. The thing was huge and I have small wrists. I was not impressed.
Enjoyed your answers - take care and God bless.

I have never watched Portrait Artist of the Year but I have seen it advertised.
