Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 577
2. As winter approaches how do you stay productive? Let's see... I'm retired and I live in Florida. Productive for me is making the bed, feeding the cats, doing some laundry, and some light cleaning now and then. Winter is the best time to live in Florida.
3. What's a popular food you don't like? Here in the south... okra.
4. What do you think is more interesting - art or history? Elaborate. I can't answer this question because I love art and history. They are both interesting in different ways and I can't choose.
5. What advice would you give to someone half your age? In your mid-30s, save your money, don't collect stuff (because no one wants it later), love the people in your life, and trust Jesus!
6. Insert your own random thought here. Mr. G is taking a few days off from my floors. He will finish the last room on Friday and Saturday. So, I'm still living with some chaos but am also getting some things organized. Five bags and three boxes of stuff were donated yesterday, and today I'm taking four bags of trash and two boxes to be burned out to Tenoroc. The guys are helping me out and I get to say hello!!

Great advice about not collecting things. I have been a collector many times in life and am now disposing of some of it. I still have a ways to go but don't want my kids to have to clean out a lifetime of possessions when I am gone....but OH! The fun I had collecting all those things! Enjoy today--I know you will- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteOf course I thought about you right away when I saw #4! How wonderful we don't really have to choose one or the other.
ReplyDeleteI really need to step up my game re. the clutter I've allowed to accumulate. And momma's glassware (etc.); I don't want it all necessarily, but it hurts my heart to think about releasing. Hugs!
My dr. son-in-law says the importance of sleep and the effects of lack of sleep on the body are definitely not given enough attention. I still sleep pretty well but I think that's unusual in women my age. I feel like so many of my friends need something to help them sleep. Sounds like you're making great progress at home! Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteI have been reading a lot about sleep and stress - they are super important for losing weight too.
ReplyDeleteI do like okra - ☺
I know you love art and history - no wonder you couldn't pick.
Love your comment - don't collect - now one wants it - choose love instead. THIS IS SO TRUE. (Hey, remember this for my blog on Tuesday next week. Talking about advice.)
Enjoyed your answers, I know you'll be happy when all the floors are done and you can sit back and enjoy them. Oh my, this southern gal loves her some okra, or okry as some of us say. Blessings and ((hugs)) to you.☺♥
ReplyDeleteI will definitely second your answer to number 5!!!
ReplyDeleteI love fried okra but please don't serve it to me - boiled or pickled. I also like it grilled. I know you are happy to be cleaning out stuff! That is always a good feeling!!
