Back to December
Saturday 9: Back to December (2010)
Unfamiliar with this week's song? Hear it here.
1) Taylor Swift sings that when her mind wanders, it usually returns to a specific day in December. How about you? Do you often daydream? Or do you focus on what's happening in the moment? I don't daydream often, if at all. I guess I live more in the moment.
2) She's looking back on December. We're going with a different take: As we enter November, what are you looking forward to this month? Thanksgiving, of course, and having my floors done!
3) The lyrics recount a casual conversation between two former sweethearts. They talk about their families, their careers, and the weather. Are you good at making small talk? That depends on where and who. Situations that require small talk are not a favorite venue for me but I can make do when I have to.
4) This song was rumored to be about her break up with Taylor Lautner, the actor best known for playing a werewolf in the popular Twilight series. In acknowledgment of the Halloween season: Did you ever trick or treat as a werewolf, vampire, witch, ghost or other scary creature? I don't think I ever dressed up as anything scary. It's been a long time since I dressed up for Halloween.
5) Taylor is currently involved with Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs, and naturally this is his busy time of year. How's your football team (NFL or NCAA) doing this season? I am not following any teams now. It was fun with Joe, who was a diehard Eagles fan, but not so fun by myself.
6) Taylor loves chicken tenders and says she'd eat them every day, if calories weren't a consideration. If you were to enjoy tenders right now, what dipping sauce would you prefer --sweet/sour, barbecue, or honey mustard? Honey mustard.
7) Thinking of food ... Taylor Swift recently donated $5 million to Feeding America with the funds earmarked for those affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Does it make you feel good to do good? If yes, what is something you've done recently to help others? (It may give other Sat-9ers ideas for something they can do.) Yes, it feels good when I can help someone but I'm not one to talk about it.
8) Back in 2010, when this week's song was a hit, the iPod Nano was also popular. Did you have an iPod? I've never had any Apple products.
9) Random question: Did you more recently run the dishwasher or the clothes washer? I did two loads of laundry yesterday.

I don't dress up for Halloween either.
ReplyDeleteToday I'm running both the dishwasher and the washing machine!
Have a good weekend Terri!
Team honey mustard here, too! Even tho' my Word for the Year is 'Present', I'd have to give myself a "D." Perhaps because I was an only child, I'm an accomplished daydreamer.
ReplyDeleteNo Apple products in this house either.
I have an Apple IPhone, and I love it. That's the only apple product I have, unless you count the apples we brought back from Georgia, which are getting eaten up instead of making something delicious with them! LOL. But we need the fresh apples more than the sweet desserts! I actually did a load of laundry this morning early. We didn't go to church today as we are still fighting these colds/coughs, and didn't feel up to it. So I did a load of towels, etc., trying to keep them clean! I don't have a dishwasher. I am the dishwasher, and I run it every day, 3x a day! LOL. Are your floors done yet? I know you are happy to have them! Makes the house feel bigger and cleaner, doesn't it? Enjoy!! Happy November!
