As usual, I don't have new photos, but I have been looking through old photos (purging and sorting, etc.), and these two made me chuckle. I always say that I take after my dad. These two photos are of him and me, at around the same age (I'm guessing). What do you think?
Third grade for me. My mom made that blouse I have on. It was green and I remember it well. Remember when everything had ricrac trim? Mom was an accomplished seamstress and made most of our clothes.
Mr. G says he will finish the living room floor by Saturday. I didn't take a photo because nothing is in its place right now. When the living room is done, I will get things organized again and photos will follow!! I absolutely love it.
Thanks for checking in! Wishing everyone a lovely weekend!! November got here fast!!
Peace and Hugs!
O the deep, deep love of Jesus!
Vast, unmeasured, boundless, free!
Rolling as a mighty ocean
In its fullness over me!
Happy November Terri! Yes, I agree that you look like your Dad. Those are sweet pics.
ReplyDeleteI remember the ric rac. My mom sewed a little, but it wasn't her favorite thing. I do remember her putting ric rac on things she made though!
I would say you and your dad could be twins. My mom did a bit of sewing. I didn't mind the tops/dresses, but the shorts/pants not so much. I know that you will be glad to have your flooring finished. Happy November!
ReplyDeleteI do think you look like your dad - especially in the eyes. My goodness your mom was a wonderful seamstress - you were so blessed there.
ReplyDeleteWow, Terri. The resemblance is (wonderfully) something else!
ReplyDeleteYour new background is perfect. Happy November!
You do look like your dad, Terri! And what a talented seamstress your mother was. Sadly, my mother never learned how to sew anything but hems, so I never got into it. Have a blessed weekend!
ReplyDeleteI agree you do look like your dad. My grandmother was a professional seamstress and made all the clothes for my sister and me. Even spring coats. All of our clothes were beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI am glad the project is going so well...it can be nerve wracking.. Have a great weekend
ReplyDeleteLove the photos of you and your Dad. Yes, you are his "mini-me"! LOL. His eyes were darker, and hair too, but your faces are almost identical! Wow! Love it. I loved the rick-rack trim. My mother made a lot of my early years clothes, but then I had to learn to sew for myself. I don't do it anymore, however. It's cheaper to buy them ready-made. (and it saves me from going crazy trying to sew! LOL).
ReplyDeleteYou do look like your dad. Mama made all my clothes too. She totally spoiled me with perfectly fitted clothes.
ReplyDeleteYep. You look like your Dad. I mostly look like my birth mother but also have some of my birth father's features and stoic nature (it's the Scot in me).
ReplyDeleteMy 2nd step mom Myra was a seamstress. She made all my clothes too. She was really talented.
It's so warm up this way it feels like September. I wish it would cool off and rain again.
Blessings.
Wow! You look a lot like your dad! I remember loving ricrac! I can't believe it is November -- happy November to you!
