The Wednesday Hodgepodge...

A big thanks to Joyce for today's Hodgepodge!  You can join in HERE!

Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 533

From this Side of the Pond

1. What's a change you'd like or need to make this year?  I hope I can retire (again) at some point in 2024.

2. Break the ice, on thin ice, ice skating, tip of the iceberg, ice cold...which icy idiom applies to your life right now? Explain.  Gosh, none of those apply to my life right now.  How about "put on ice" with a few projects I keep putting off...

3. What's a project you've been putting off?  Ha!  See above.  Painting my kitchen.  Will you get to it this month? This year?  Not this month but hopefully this year.

4. Of the fruits that grow well in winter which ones have you tried? Which is your favorite?  This is strawberry season here in Florida and will be followed by blueberry season.  Both are favorites.  I do love pomegranates, clementines, pears, and grapefruit.

pomegranates, clementines, persimmons, passion fruit, pears, grapefruit, lemons, pomelos, kumquats

5. What do you think it means to be courageous?  To put another's life before yours. To stick to your own beliefs and to protect your integrity.  To face your fear bravely. To honor those around you with respect and truth. To be true to yourself, always.

6. Insert your own random thought here.  I spend a lot of my alone time streaming British TV shows.  BritBox and Acorn have some great shows.  I'm enjoying one now called The Madame Blanc Mysteries.  Always fun and always well done.

Peace and Hugs!

We've got rain and wind.
The weather outside is frightful...

A note:  Pat and Cheryl arrived home safely and they were able to stay ahead of the bad weather.  Praise God!!

  1. We have neighbors who drove from Florida, just ahead of the storms there. Unfortunately, we are having winter storms here and all the local schools are closed.
    Fresh strawberries sound so good!
I'll have to look for that show. We just started a British Detective show called Endeavor. So far it's very good!

  3. Strawberries are one of my favorite fruits. I put frozen ones in with the plain whole milk yogurt after supper. It's my keto dessert. Yum!
I'll have to look for the The Madame Blanc Mysteries. See if it's on BritBox. I may subscribe to Acorn since Discovery+ has gotten boring. We call it the "Oh Wow" channel because of the reno shows I liked to watch. It seems as if the first thing outta their mouths when looking at homes is, "Oh wow, Oh wow, oh wow." Gets on my nerves. *lol*
I wish I could find the link for participating in these Hodgepodges. They can be fun.
Praying that finances will allow you to retire soon.
Wasn't that storm something!? It missed us. We only received rain but many were not that fortunate. Glad that Pat and Cheryl are safe.
    Blessings. xx

  4. Wasn't that a wicked storm front? I'm glad to hear Pat and Cheryl missed it!
Thankfully, we 'only' experienced flooding and my car cover was ripped off. I've a couple rooms needing fresh paint, too, but I keep procrastinating. Yours is a great definition of courage ... really sound.

  5. I'm relieved to hear that Cheryl and Pat made it home safely, Terri. The snow up north is horrible! I love strawberries the most; Danny just bought some Florida ones the other day. Yum!

  6. My daughter and her family were traveling all day yesterday in the horrible weather. So glad to know they were safely home. I enjoy British programming too. I've been catching up on some of the seasons of Midsomer Murders recently. Have a great day!

  7. I love that we have strawberries early in Florida. One of my favorite fruits and nothing like fresh much like nothing better than a Florida orange off a real Florida tree.
I am glad they got home. The weather was dreadful for certain. I do hope you can retire this year or at least do only what you want to do with it.
