Now don't be laughing, my friends from the north!! It's all relative... and it's cold here for the next few days!! No boots or mittens, but still cold for us!
I have very little to write about the weekend. Friday after work, I stopped at Publix Pharmacy to get the first Shingles vaccine. After seeing my neighbor go through such pain with shingles a month ago I decided I needed to follow my doctor's advice and get it done. My arm was sore for a couple of days but not worse than the flu shots I get every year. The second one will be in a few months.
No alarm on Saturday morning and the cats even let me sleep in until after 8:00. I puttered around doing a few things here and there but didn't leave the house. I went to Sunday school and church and was a greeter for the church service. I enjoy passing out the bulletin and getting hugs and smiles. Laundry was done when I got home and not much else. I watched the movie "Miss Congeniality" with Sandra Bullock. Cute movie. I have the DVD but it was free on YouTube.
I'm working all day today because I have an early morning eye doctor follow-up appointment on Wednesday and decided to just take the day off. Scheduled an early lunch with my friends, Wendy and Suzette!! Yippee!!
Have a blessed week ahead and thanks for the visit!!
A day at home is always nice. Glad you got to do that on Saturday.
ReplyDeleteI think working all day will be worth it on Wed, and you'll have fun going out for lunch!
I love quiet days at home. Hope all will go well at the eye appointment and have fun at lunch with friends.
ReplyDeleteYay for getting your shingles vax! Like you, I had little discomfort - but my DIL was very ill for 3 days and almost didn't go through with the 2nd.
ReplyDeleteMiss Congeniality was so cute! Wouldn't she (Sandra Bullock) have made a wonderful Stephanie Plum?
She would have been perfect for the role. They made such a a big mistake with Katherine Heigl.
DeleteYour weekend sounds peaceful and pleasant. Sometimes we just need a quiet day to recharge. I'm kind of needing that right now. Yes, it is chilly here today, and windy! But the sun is shining so at least that's nice! This too shall pass and we will be back to warmer weather than we really want all too soon, so I won't complain about this little cold snap. Hope all goes well this week for your eye appt. and then lunch with friends...how wonderful! Take care and enjoy the week!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your eye doctor appointment. Nice you can kind of do your own schedule.
ReplyDeleteI got my shingles shots too.
I liked Miss Congeniality too!
Hey have a question for you - you have always stuck with your comments on the page - has anyone ever come back to read it? I am trying that now and I am just plain interested.
I'm not really sure what you mean. I do get a second comment/reply now and then so once in awhile someone comes back. There isn't much commentary back and forth, though and I don't reply to each comment like some folks do (sorry). Does this help?
DeleteI'm glad you had a good weekend, Terri. Here's some good news - Danny had his pacemaker replaced today and will be released from the hospital tomorrow!!! We will spend the night in a hotel with sons, Giovanni and Nicco, and head for home on Wednesday. Thanks for all your prayers, my friend!
DeleteWonderful news, Martha!! Prayers will continue!!! Thanks for the update. God is so good!!
Delete"Miss Congeniality" is a fun movie. I also watched it recently, but it's for about the 3rd time. It was still enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteIt's gotten chilly here again. This year I'm anxious for Spring because we're so ready to start planting flowers like last Spring. It was nice sitting on the back deck watching all the life flitting between the pretty flowers. We're gonna do that again.
Have a blessed evening. xx
Miss Congeniality is a fun movie!! It is chilly here in Alabama, too, but we are supposed to reach 60 today!! The sun is shining, too. Hope your eye doctor appointment goes well!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're getting the shingles vaccines. I had a friend who had permanant nerve damage and pain after she had shingles. I was hesitating about getting the vaccine because of the cost of it at the time, but she said, "If I could pay $200 to get rid of this pain, I would."
ReplyDeleteLove Miss Congeniality. Actually, I pretty much love anything Sandra Bullock is in.
Your weekend sounds nice to me.
Mine were covered by my Advantage Plan, thankfully.
