Friday Fotos...

I do have a few new photos.  I went out for dinner last night with the Mas Verde group.  There were only five of us this week.  We went downtown to MoJo Federal.  It is in a building that used to be a post office and that's where the Federal part of their name comes from.  It is a fun building and they advertise that they are a whiskey bar.  The BBQ is okay.  It isn't the best, in my opinion, but it was fun being with my friends, Tim & Judy and Sharon & Larry.  We always laugh a lot which I love.

I parked on the street, which was fantastic.  Downtown parking is usually difficult but I got a spot right on the corner and beside the Heritage Plaza which is where the attorney is, who is helping me with Helen's estate.  I have become familiar with this corner.  They do have a parking garage, though, which is where I usually park when I have to go there.

That's all I have for today.  I'm looking forward to the weekend with nothing on the calendar until Sunday school and church.  I'm a greeter this Sunday.

Peace and Hugs!

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross
The emblem of suffering and shame
And I love that old cross where the dearest and best
For a world of lost sinners was slain

  5. That is a pretty building, I understand 'federal' but I'm wondering about 'mojo' I love sharing good times with friends, always lifts me up.
So I'll cherish the old rugged Cross
Till my trophies at last I lay down
I will cling to the old rugged Cross
And exchange it some day for a crown

    1. Mojo comes from the blues and denotes good vibes... According to Mr. Google and MoJo's website.

  7. That restoration is so cool. I love the exposed brick ... imagining how it must have looked 'back in the day.'
Old Rugged Cross is one of my very favorite hymns!

  8. "To the old rugged cross I will ever be true
It's shame and reproach gladly bear
Then he'll call me some day to my home far away
Where his glory forever I'll share"

Thought I'd put the 2nd verse since Mary did the chorus to the first verse! Love that song!
That building looks really cool! We have some "Mojo" restaurants up in the Ocala area. They are fun places too. Probably not the same chain, but still the same idea. Glad you were able to get out and enjoy an evening with friends. Nice to have a quiet weekend for a change. We will be going to the Memorial Service for our former Pastor on Saturday. I expect it will be a large gathering, and there will be a catered luncheon afterwards. He was the Pastor here for 17 years, including the first couple of years we attended this church before he retired. Take care my friend and enjoy your peaceful weekend.

  9. Hello Terri. I am woefully behind in my blog-reading, so I'll be scanning over your recent posts in backwards order. I like restaurants that occupy buildings with a history, such as the one where you dined last night. In my last Colorado home town, there was a small Catholic church that grew large and moved to a bigger location. The original church building was transformed into an upscale restaurant where I often took my out-of-town guests. Enjoy your quiet weekend. We all need those from time to time (and more often, as we age!).

  10. Love the building that houses the restaurant. That one looks like the one downtown in Auburn. They have built a big new one that is not in downtown although close. They have kept the old one functioning although small. I think it is still in use for the students and downtown walking traffic, but that was a great use of that space. Always fun to have dinner with friends.

  11. That looks like a really nice place to eat. It's good to see them take old buildings and turn them into something else, I'm supposed to go to our old post office next Saturday for a retirement party for a former co-worker. So many memories when I walk in there.

  12. Sounds like you had a good time at dinner, even if the food wasn't the best. And what a blessing to find a parking spot so close!
