Beautiful Day
Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so to speak. We encourage you to visit other participants' posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!
Beautiful Day (2000)
Unfamiliar with this week’s song? Hear it here.
1) This song is about finding joy in an imperfect world. What brings you joy today? Today (writing on Friday evening) my joy is that it is Friday and my calendar is clear until church on Sunday! Yippee!! I've had a busy couple of weeks.
2) The lyrics mention being stuck in traffic. A poll of Boston commuters revealed that drivers have a variety of responses to be stuck in traffic — everything from bored to impatient to angry. How do you feel when you’re stuck in a traffic jam? Most of you know my answer to this one... impatience. I am working on it, though!!
3) This year Bono and his wife, Ali, celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. Who is the longest-married couple you know? My dear friend, Helen, and her hubby were married 62 years before he died nine years ago. My paternal grandparents were married almost 60 years before my grandpa died.
4) When Bono inducted Frank Sinatra into the Grammy Hall of Fame, he complimented Frank on his “swagger.” Do you think you have “swagger?” Gosh, I don't know. I don't think I'm a swaggering kind of person, I've got nothing to swagger about.

5) When U2 guitarist The Edge did a charity concert at the Sistine Chapel, he became the first rocker to perform there. If you were to travel to Rome, what sites would you be certain to visit? I have been blessed to have been to Rome. The first place I visited was the Colosseum but the Sistine Chapel was beyond amazing.
6) This week’s song was chosen because St. Patrick’s Day is coming up, and U2 is one of Ireland’s most famous exports. What else is Ireland famous for? Leprechauns, pots of gold, the Blarney Stone, Irish stew, Guinness...
7) Corned beef and cabbage is a traditional St. Patrick’s Day dish. Is it a favorite of yours? I do love corned beef and cabbage - especially the cabbage. I will be making sure to get some on the 17th. My maiden name is Kelly, even though I am more Scottish than Irish.
8) St. Patrick is credited with driving snakes out of Ireland. Ophiophobia is the fear of snakes. Do you suffer from ophiophobia? I am not afraid of snakes but I do have a healthy respect for them.
9) St. Patrick’s Day fantasy: A leprechaun will share his gold with you, but you must request a specific amount for a single item. How much would you ask for, and what would you buy? This is all in fun, I guess. I will ask for $160,000 to buy a brand new 3-bedroom manufactured home right here in Mas Verde.... then I don't have to work on renovations to this house (which I love, by the way).
Peace & hugs!
Jesus is all the world to me!!

Yes, St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner! I think I have about equal amounts of Irish and Scottish in me, Terri. And I could do without the corned beef and cabbage - lol!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Enjoy your weekend of free time during our stormy weather!!
ReplyDeleteMy maiden name is Andrews and like you, I'm a lot more Scotch and English than Irish. Oh, the Blarney Stone...I forgot about that. My grandmother kissed it when she went there in her 70's! Enjoy your quiet weekend, Terri! We are cozied up looking out at the snow.
ReplyDeleteInteresting Q-and-A today! I can't remember ever having corned beef and cabbage; perhaps this year's time to start? Hope you're enjoying a stress-less, relaxing day!
ReplyDeleteI love that you have been to Rome. I would love to go.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you are not afraid of snakes. They scare me to death. Loved your answers! Have a nice weekend.

I enjoyed your answers. I would ask for $35,000 and pay off our pickup truck. It's our only debt. I really don't like owing money but it was something we had to do. God is good, though and we're doing OK in spite of the way the world is going.
ReplyDeleteStay warm and safe.
Blessings. xx
Grinning....I surely understand about your last thought...oh and Liam would tell you he had swagger, i.e., confidence, LOLOL. That kid was something else...smiles.
ReplyDeleteI have no Irish in me, but I wish I did. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think you have swagger either - I think a person with swagger, thinks more highly of themselves than they should and you're not that way!
They had a parade in Ireland Indiana today. I have been in Ireland many times lol
ReplyDeleteMy aunt and uncle in Michigan have the longest marriage that I know. It's over 60 but I'm not sure the exact date
Working on it here it will be 45 years for my husband and I in about a month
Being a child of God brings me joy and knowing that He is always there for me. My husband and family and friends bring me joy and God's beautiful creation and taking pictures of it
