Monday's Weekend Recap....

I'll back up to Thursday and my dinner out with friends from the community here.  We went to Beef O'Brady's and there were only five of us.  Larry & Sharon and Tim & Judy and me.  We had a good time.  The food is passable but not great.  Still, it was a fun evening.  Cathy and Donna didn't come this time.  Seems they were out shopping and had a big lunch later in the day.

On Friday evening, a group of my new co-workers had a little gathering at our local brewery.  Two of the bigger bosses were there, my boss and his wife, and another man from my office and his wife, plus a few other folks from the regional office.  They want to make it a monthly event.  It was fun, lively, and was nice to get out and get to know some of the people better. The brewery has a live band and the outside area was comfortable.  There was also a food truck.  I had a ginger ale as I'm not especially fond of beer.

I slept in a bit on Saturday but wanted to get some things done outside before it got too hot.  I rinsed off the car and scrubbed off some bugs on the bumper from my road trip to Georgia.  I put air in my new bicycle tires and took it down the road for a quick ride.  I cleaned off the outdoor chairs, getting ready for cooler temps and sitting outside.  Back inside, I changed the air filter for the HVAC and my techie friend, Gregory, popped in around 4:30 to help get Joe's computer cleaned up.  I wanted all the client information to go away for good, so that's done.

Sunday was Sunday school and church.  I got home from there and did some laundry before heading to the Tampa airport to pick up a couple of our snowbird residents/friends.  Joe and I picked them up last year and they asked if I could do it for them again this year. I was happy to help.  Ernie & MJ are good folks.  They are one of the couples who play the game Nickels all the time.  A few more friends are due back this week and the weekend coming up.  It will be nice to have more of the group back with us.

Work today and I will probably stop to see Helen on the way home and then pop in at the grocery for a few things. Wishing you all a blessed week ahead!

Peace & hugs!!

  3. I've been to the Beef O'Bradys in Zephyhills, and was underwhelmed. But it's nice to get out and be with friends, you've been busy! It's rainy and gloomy here, but I don't mind at all. It's that time of year I start thinking about planning my Florida trip ha!

  4. You sure are busy. It sounds like you are a social butterfly with all of your friends. Good to see people coming back to Florida, but that means it will be getting cold up here in the north.

  7. It really sounds as if your new work place is a friendly and genuine bunch. That is always a bonus!! One of my dear friends became a widow this weekend. While expected it is not easy. I always think of you and Barbara and how you are so transparent in your journey. You are such an encourager, Terri. Glad the snowbirds are back!!

  14. I think we may have been at the same place in Dade city Friday night we noticed a state truck parked on the side street when we went in and laughed about a great place to hold a meeting. We go there for trivia too and always enjoy the mixed crowd, young, old and we'll behaved dogs too. I enjoy your blog and admire your spirit.
