Cheeseburger in Paradise
Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so to speak. We encourage you to visit other participants' posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!
Cheeseburger in Paradise (1978)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
1) In this song, Jimmy briefly attempts a healthier diet, which included sunflower seeds, carrot juice, zucchini, and bulgur wheat. Do you pay attention to your daily consumption of vitamins, minerals, dietary fiber, etc.? No. I should pay more attention but I don't.
2) Jimmy sings that he'd like french fries with his burger. Do you prefer to dip your fries or drizzle the ketchup over them? I prefer to dip my fries in the ketchup. I prefer to eat them with my fingers, not my fork.
2) Jimmy sings that he'd like french fries with his burger. Do you prefer to dip your fries or drizzle the ketchup over them? I prefer to dip my fries in the ketchup. I prefer to eat them with my fingers, not my fork.
3) Which cheese would make yours a cheeseburger in paradise: American, cheddar, Swiss, bleu, Muenster, or Monterrey Jack? I like all of those flavors but most often have American or cheddar.
4) Buffett fans call themselves Parrotheads. Concert attire for a well-dressed Parrothead often includes a Hawaiian shirt and a foam fin hat. What will you be wearing tonight? Nothing special on my calendar for tonight so my usual Saturday attire of capris and a comfortable t-shirt. I am doing chores and (perhaps) taking a little bike ride today!
5) For someone with such an easygoing and laidback vibe, Jimmy is a very busy man. His business ventures include liquors, restaurants, and hotels. He's also published eight books. All this in addition to making music! On a scale of 1 to 10 -- with 1 being lazy and 10 being highly motivated -- how would you rate yourself this morning? A pretty solid 4. I have work to do but lack just a little motivation.
6) Jimmy has some very famous fans. Paul McCartney asked him to play at one of his parties, and Barack Obama invited him to perform at a fundraiser. If you could invite anyone -- anyone at all! -- to play at your party, who would you ask? Joe and I both loved listening to Steve Tyrell and I still have a couple of his CDs. I would love to talk with him so he would add more than just music to the party! Hopefully we could keep politics out of it.
8) In 1978, the year this song was popular, the Susan B. Anthony Dollar was first minted. The initial design was not a hit with the public because vending machines could not accept it. What's the last thing you bought from a vending machine? I can't even remember the last time I used a vending machine. Years.
9) Random question -- If today's your birthday, your zodiac sign is Libra. When did you last check your horoscope? I usually read my horoscope in the morning paper because it is on the comic page. I do not believe in them... it IS on the comic page.
Peace & hugs!
Jesus is the way!

I haven't heard that song in years. I like to dip my fries too.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Interesting questions this week. I like your answers. My birthday is not on Christmas, but I'm between Christmas and New Year's (the 29th) which makes for some interesting gifts.
ReplyDeleteMy dad's birthday was Christmas Day, and I always felt a bit sorry for him that he had to share his birthday with all of us getting presents, too. But it never seemed to bother him.
ReplyDeleteLove some Jimmy Buffet! I've read some of his books, too, and they are surprisingly good.
Blessings, Terri!
You convinced me to play, too! I wasn't familiar with Steve Tyrell (yes, I live under a rock) but certainly enjoyed this video and the link to his page! Yep, I remember reading the comics and horoscopes on Saturday mornings with my mother.
ReplyDelete[because I've got some time on my hands this morning, I'm giving you my responses to the questions)
ReplyDelete1. yes to vitamins
2. fries with ketchup any way I can get ‘em!
3. American or cheddar - both good
4. I always wash my hair on Saturday nights, so I’ll have a towel wrapped around for a while.
5. motivation: working on getting above a 5
6. musician at my party? Dino Kartsonakis
7. my birthday is very close to St. Patrick’s Day
8. I don’t trust vending machines
9. I don’t go near anything with horoscopes, astrology, and the like. God is in control of my life and even when unhappy things happen, I am at peace knowing He is in control and the ultimate end will be the most fantastic beginning!
Enjoy your weekend, Terri dear!
Now, this is a song I didn't have to look up! I dip my fries in either Ranch dressing or mustard, but not ketchup. Most of the time it is cheddar, but at one place it is provolone because cheddar isn't an offering. My birthday falls on Mother's Day once in a while. Haven't used a vending machine since I retired (11 years ago).
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Saturday, Terri!
I am a fry dipper too. I love swiss cheese on my burgers.
ReplyDeleteI was born on Thanksgiving day and my birthday falls on it every few years.
I never heard of Steve Tyrell but enjoyed that video.
I'm a Jimmy Buffet fan since the 70s. I enjoy his music, not his politics or drug habits. His earlier tunes remind me of happy times.
ReplyDeleteLove Cheeseburgers but can't do crumbly cheeses (or milk). They just tear me up, make me really sick.
Love & Prayers xx
My birthday was usually about the first day of school or within a couple of days. Sure took the fun out of it!! :)
ReplyDelete#4...same here. Capris and a t-shirt. Loved your answers! Have a nice weekend.
