Smelly Cat
Welcome to Saturday 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so to speak. We encourage you to visit other participants' posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!
Saturday 9: Smelly Cat (1995)
Unfamiliar with this song? Hear it here.
3) On the show, the song was performed by Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow), an amateur folk singer and a professional masseuse. There was a debate on Reddit about massages -- some loved them because they are relaxing and therapeutic, others think it's "creepy to be undressed and handled by a stranger." How about you? Do you enjoy massages? I do enjoy a massage and attribute my successful knee therapy to a massage therapist. My leg muscles were so tight that I couldn't get the range of motion my therapist required (this was my second knee surgery). I went to the massage therapist at my chiropractor's office and she worked on my leg for 30 minutes. The next day, it was like I had a new leg and a new knee. I could bend to the required 120 degrees and beyond.
6) This song was originally called "Smelly Dog," inspired by a pooch named Gouda. The childhood pet of Friends writer Betsy Borns, poor Gouda could have smelled better. Is there an odor you'd prefer to never smell again? Cat pee is pretty bad. I keep my three litter boxes cleaned every day and am happy Vinny seems to have stopped marking things.
9) Random question: Looking over your romantic history, have you broken more hearts, or had your heart broken more often? My 'romantic history' isn't that interesting. The only time my heart was broken to pieces was when Joe died (almost six months ago). He was my best friend and the person who knew me better than anyone after 36 years of marriage. I miss him something awful but know he would want me to carry on. He was always my greatest cheerleader and I know he is urging me on. I would want him to be proud of me.

Fun post and great answers today. And I agree with you about #9...I am sure Joe would be proud of you and how you have "carried on". You are a remarkable woman and very strong. I know God is helping you to cope as well, but you do amaze me at how well you are doing taking care of things. Your "cat mom" pic is so cute. I know your kitties love you a lot!! Have a blessed weekend.

ReplyDeleteI know that you miss Joe each and every day, Terri. And yes, I'm positive he would want you to keep going, living your best life each and every day. Keeping you in prayers!
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of Starbucks, either, Terri. And I don't think I've seen a single episode of Friends. I know what you mean about looking back and something and thinking, "Why on earth did I think that was so great?"
ReplyDeleteYour strength and positivity is wonderful. Hugs!
Seemed silly to me... :)
ReplyDeleteI remember the Smelly Cat song from Friends. Not a fan of Starbucks (well, except for their peppermint mochas). I enjoyed reading your responses, Terri. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard that song, but you are so right about cat pee.
ReplyDeleteYour romantic history might not be exciting, but it's good, because you and Joe were perfect.
Thank you, Mari. Joe and I weren't perfect but we sure had it good.
Delete1. I love that song it is so silly but fun, and being done by Lisa Kudrow is perfect with her facial expressions when singing it.
ReplyDeleteWe have regular check-ups and toe nail clippings at the Vet.
2. I watch the reruns everyday.
I love a massage, it makes me feel so relaxed for days, and the lotions they use smell so good.
4. I had only one roommate, she ripped me off, moved out took everything but one nasty basket of dirty clothes (her clothing) never found out where she was.
5. We only buy Starbucks when we go out, it is smooth and so yummy, we get a cup three times a week, we brew Starbucks coffee grounds at home.
6. I cannot stand the smell of garlic in my home, love the taste but hate the smell.
7.We have a cat named Blondie, after the singer Debbie Harry also known at Blondie.
8. No balloon flying for me but would like to head to I think it is Arizona for the balloon expeditions when they take off, I have only seen photos.
9. Never broke a heart had mine broke twice, it was worth it I found my soul mate of 44 years.
This was a fun post.

Forgot to mention I am saddened by your loss, it is hard when you lose a loved one, Terri, I am sure he is proud of how well you are doing, one thing that no one can take away from you is memories.
ReplyDeleteI am adding you to my blog list.
Catherine

Our favorite going out for coffee place is the Cafe Euro in Jesup. They have the BEST frozen sugar-free frappe's. Yum.
ReplyDeleteIt breaks my heart that Joe went Home before you. I wish he was still here too. I think you're doing great, my friend. You're my hero in the Being Brave Department. :)
Sending Prayers & Blessings. xx
(((HUGS))) I am sure Joe would be very proud of the brave way you've carried on and the strength you've shown. You have been such a great example of going through tragedy with grace. Good to hear Vinnie is behaving himself now. We had a cat for a while that did that. He was an un-fixed male that had been a stray and the kids brought him home. He was a beautiful tuxedo but he sprayed EVERYWHERE! The vet said neutering him would probably not help at that point. We decided we were not the home for him. He went to live on a friend's farm and had a cozy home in the barn and a harem of girl kitties.
ReplyDeleteI have absolutely no doubt that Joe is proud of you and how you are handling yourself and circumstances since his passing. You've had more than your own personal grief to contend with (thinking of Helen) and I marvel how well you're getting through it all. Anybody who has you on their team is blessed!
