Tuesday 4...

Thanks to Annie for continuing the Tuesday 4 tradition!  You can join in HERE!

Tuesday 4

Welcome to Tuesday 4 in honor and memory of Toni Taddeo.

1.. How did you meet your husband/wife?  Joe and I met on a Monday night in a restaurant/bar that was hosting a benefit for a young man who had died of meningitis (he was an employee at Joe's gym).  I was there with a girlfriend from work (we stopped in after an early movie) and he was there with friends from his gym.  A chance of a lifetime meeting! It was meant to be!

2. How did you know he/she was “the one”?  It didn't take too long.  We met on August 1, 1983 and were talking about marriage by October. We married on May 11, 1985.

3. How did he propose?  He never really proposed.  We just started talking about getting married and (since I was divorced) I had to file for an annulment with the Catholic church. That took 18 months. Joe's first wife had died of cancer.

Lynn is standing next to me in pink. She was with me the night I met Joe.
Nancy is in lavender and both of my friends worked with me at the American Red Cross.
Both sons stood up with their dad.

4. Do you have any favorite stories from your marriage or about your husband/wife?  We have been married for 35+ years so there are lots of stories.  Let's just say he still makes me laugh and we are still in love.

Thanks for your visit today!

(I didn't wear a white gown but thought this was a cute avatar.)

Peace & hugs!  God bless!!

  7. Such a great and serendipitous story about how you and Joe met, Terri. When we meet the "one," I don't think it takes us very long to know he/she is the right one for us. Did you know that Danny and I met over E-Harmony? That's a long story for another time. :)
    Blessings!

  11. What a gift you and Joe are to each other. Especially after a divorce for you and a wife passing for him, your union was truly a balm of love to the broken-hearted.

  13. Hey Terri,

Joining Tuesday 4 for the first time. I enjoyed getting to know you a little better. God puts us where He wants us to be but it's up to us to take advantage of the opportunity. Nice responses.

  17. Hmmm....what is it with all of us? We all seem to have known we'd found the one in remarkably short times and so far I haven't come across anyone who got the big romantic proposal. I guess we were on to something, though, since we are all in long marriages!

  18. Oh my word! I did not read the last question right...hahahahaha.. I was thinking do you have any good stories from your wedding. So, I am like you. We have been married for so long and had so many good moments and memories. Karl still makes me laugh too. Loved your answers. Have a nice week.

    1. I don't think so, Myra. Joe invited me out to dinner to meet them the first time. It went well. They boys had heard their mother tell them that she wanted Joe to marry again and that they should trust him. She really set it up for me to succeed. Even her parents called me their adopted daughter. Loretta told everyone to accept Joe's choice. She made joining the family so easy for me. I know I would have loved her. Amazing woman. She had a brain tumor that was inoperable and passed around 16 months after her diagnosis.
