Welcome to Tuesday 4 where we honor the memory and legacy of our dear friend Toni Taddeo who started the concept of Tuesday 4 years ago.

Since this week is the first week in September and autumn is on the way, let's discuss that topic, okay?
(Thanks to Annie for Tuesday 4. You can join in right HERE!)
September
1. What memories does September bring back to you of school, autumn, songs, movies? Would you share them with us? In Ohio when I was in school, we started class the Tuesday after Labor Day weekend. In my home town, Labor Day Weekend meant our town's Sweet Corn Festival!! Great memories!
2. September is the first of what are called the "ber" months. and the end of summer and beginning of autumn. Which do you enjoy more, summer or autumn and why? Here in Florida, we all look forward to cooler days and nights in the Fall.
3. Have you ever gone apple or pumpkin picking or gone into a corn maze? What was that like? I have never done a corn maze but my dad raised pumpkins in our garden. I don't pick apples but a good apple orchard is the one and only thing I miss here in Florida. I loved going to the orchard in the Fall. Fresh cider, good Cortland apples bigger than your fist, apple butter.... yum!!
4. Are fall weekends different for you than summer weekends? What do you enjoy in autumn? Not different now that I am retired and living in Florida. We have six Saturdays and a Sunday every week. We enjoy cooler temps and less humidity.
Thanks for your visit today!
Happy September!
Peace & hugs! God bless!!

There's nothing like an apple orchard in the fall, is there? The smells and tastes are divine! Have a great day, Terri!
ReplyDeleteFall is my fave time. Have a great time!
ReplyDelete"Six Saturdays and a Sunday every week." I love that phrase, Terri! Yes, it does aptly apply to the retired life, doesn't it? I'm so looking forward to fall here in GA. It can't come soon enough.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
I agree, lower humidity is one of the things I look forward to in the fall. I do enjoy college football but looks like that will be different this year as well.
ReplyDeleteI also look forward to no humidity. This summer here in western NY has dragged on since late April-early May; thanks to the never ending shut down and the humidity has been with us since then too. I enjoyed your answers, Terri. Have a beautiful day, friend.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to lower humidity but as Florida goes we will wait until October:) I do like September though. For some reason I had a hard time letting go of August this year.
ReplyDeleteI love your Fall look.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed all of your answers.
Have a great Tuesday my friend.
Love the new blog look! Oh, yeah, fall...my favorite of the seasons. I wish it lasted even longer than it does. I remember Florida falls---they were non-existent. A bit cooler, but not until November or even December. Enjoy every day of this beautiful month!
ReplyDeleteWe, too, always started the school year on Tuesday after Labor Day. September evokes so many great mountain memories. I could sure go for a jar of apple butter right now; haven't tasted that in years!
ReplyDeleteSix Saturdays and one Sunday, I like that!! We had an apple orchard here long ago, they cut it down for progress. :( What once was considered 'out of town' is now stores and restaurants. {{sigh}} I love apple butter, so yummy. Hope you and Joe have a great day.
ReplyDeleteI love Apple Butter and have it on my peanut butter toast for breakfast quite often. I love applesauce, apple pies and picking apples. We did pick them a few times, but mostly just picked up bags of already picked apples from the orchards when we lived in Ohio, Michigan and NH. I really miss going to the orchards in the fall. Hot apple cider (mulled) and fresh hot donuts while we selected our apples...and just the feel of fall...some places had hayrides out to the pumpkin patch too. I miss that so much. Oh well, not enough to move back up there esp. in winter. LOL. Great post.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first moved here there was a pumpkin patch and apple orchard just up the road, but they burned it! Can you believe it? I was so upset. It was such a neat thing for this little community. They sold the house and burned the trees. Maybe they were diseased? I thought it was so weird. Anyway, loved your answers! Have a nice Tuesday!

September makes me think of school and the smell of ketchup being made at the Stokey's canning factory in our small town. You could always smell it at our school. The school and the factory are both long gone now. Sad. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteYum for fresh apples! I've done a corn maze and it was fun. I like Fall but have to quit dwelling on what comes next...
ReplyDeleteSix Saturdays and one Sunday, I love that, so cute! We are suppose to have fall like weather next week and it will NOT be a day too soon. Happy rest of the week!
ReplyDeleteLoved your answers, oh, I forgot to mention the apple butter making at some local churches. We love apple butter!
