Weekend Recap on Monday....

Since I worked on Saturday, the weekend kinda flew by for me!  I need to get used to my new routine.  Off to work today, but we did have a wonderful weekend full of good friends and good food!!  LOTS of food!

Friday was my day off from work, but I worked at home doing our laundry and a little cleaning.  Joe went to play Nickels while I was just lazy at home for those two hours. It was nice to just kick back and not do anything much.

Saturday was my first day at work by myself.  It was a busy morning but went okay.  The Doc is very nice and his wife even called me to see if I was feeling okay about the morning. She reminded me to call her if I needed anything.  I'm blessed!!

Saturday afternoon we were invited to a little Christmas get-together at Cindy & Tony's house.  They play Nickels on Friday nights, as do many of the folks who were invited to the party.  It was lots of fun.  Here are some photos from the party...

Helen invited us to her church, United Methodist Temple, on Sunday morning for their Christmas Cantata and Christmas luncheon.  We went last year and really enjoyed it.  Her church is very small and the choir only has around 15 people but they have a mighty sound and did a great job.

The Christmas tree in the Sanctuary is BIG and beautiful.

The luncheon was ham, turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes,

green beans, rolls and lots of dessert choices, including a

Happy Birthday Jesus cake.

The ladies from the choir entertained us with a song called

the Twelve Days AFTER Christmas. It was very cute.

We went home after the lunch but turned right around a couple of hours later to meet up with our friend, Gregory, at his church, the First United Methodist Church of Lakeland.  The FUMC is a huge church and they have a music department with a symphony, a bell choir, two youth choirs, an acapella choir, and adult choir.... you get the idea.  They sound professional and put on quite a production for their Christmas concert.

After the concert, we went to dinner with Gregory, Suzanne (from the museum), her hubby Russell and her friend, Mary.  It was a nice way to end the evening.  Joe and I didn't have much to eat because we were still stuffed from lunch!  It was a weekend of eating!

This is a busy week and tomorrow is my birthday!!  December 11!!  Suzanne invited me to lunch for my birthday so I will leave work and head right for the Museum to meet her there.  I have a stack of coupons for birthday freebies at several restaurants.  Probably won't even get to use them all... which is probably a good thing! LOL
