I'll back up to Friday, my day off from work. I hit the floor running!! I got the laundry done, the Christmas decorating done, a little cleaning done, and then we had some dinner and parked our butts in front of the TV.
Wednesday was national French Toast Day. We had to wait until Friday
morning to celebrate, but I did make French toast for our breakfast.
I sat an Angel doll, that my mom made for me years ago,
on the crock full of throws until I could put her someplace else.

On Saturday, I had to work again but we got off at noon after the last patient was gone. Joe and I had some errands to run, Joe had a couple of games to watch on TV (Villanova & then the Flyers). We decided to order a couple of subs from Jimmy Johns for dinner. I placed the order online to pick up at 5:30. Helen and Cheryl stopped by with some mail for Joe and to just visit. When they left, we left right behind them and headed downtown to get our subs. The city has all the Christmas decorations up and ready for our Christmas Parade, which is this Thursday. Our Munn Park (central in downtown) has lighted archways that you can stroll through. They look much prettier when it is dark, but you can at least see what it looks like when it is just dusky.

in the middle of the lake. Looks like someone has green-lighted
trees in their yard (off to the left of the big tree).
When we got home, we decided to watch "The Bishop's Wife" by
the light of our tree. Not a great photo, but we loved it.
Sunday found us at church. We are really liking Covenant Presbyterian and sat with a young family that we have known for years and had no idea they attended Covenant. Leah worked at the Museum 15 years ago for a few years, in our Education Department. She worked there when they had their first baby, and that baby is 14 years old now! It was great catching up with them!! It is feeling more and more like home to us. That said, next week we will be going to Helen's UMC for their Christmas Cantata and luncheon. We went last year and it was very nice.
So I am off to work this morning. This is my last week with Kim training me. I'll be solo on Saturday. Yikes. I know I will learn more when she is gone, but cutting the cord is still hard to think about. The doctor I work for is from India and is a Hindu. He has a very thick accent and his handwriting is just as thick! LOL It will all work out.

We watched the Bishop's Wife this weekend too. We had never seen it until a year ago and now it's one of our favorites! Have a good week...get plenty of rest when you get home! Hugs!

ReplyDeleteOh, I was wondering how your body was adjusting to waking early again. Here, I was picturing your new boss as a benevolent, elderly type -- and now, you say he's Indian. One of Tom's pulmonologists is Indian; as is his wife/nurse. Two of the nicest folks we encountered.

It does take awhile to get back into working after being off for a period of time but you will adjust sweet Terri. The french toast looks yummy, now I want some. lol All the Christmas things are very pretty. Hugs and blessings.

For some strange reason right now my keyboard won't allow me to do apostrophes or parenthesis. I bet you're doing great, but I do understand that feeling of being on your own. So glad you are enjoying the new church. I always enjoyed singing Christmas cantatas.

ReplyDeleteOh my, that french toast looked yummy! Love all the decorations! Since the kiddos have moved out I've slowly been downsizing the decorations but it still took me most of the day on Sunday. I had to laugh when you 'said' you had some dinner and parked your butts in front of the tv! That's exactly what I did on Sunday evening! Happy Tuesday!
