Thanks to Crazy Sam for this week's Saturday 9. You can join in HERE!
Nights on Broadway

Crazy Sam says: Welcome to Saturday 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!
Saturday 9: Nights on Broadway (1975)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
1) It's estimated that there are more than 200 separate streets called "Broadway" in the United States. Does your town have a Broadway? Yes, Lakeland has a Broadway Street.
2) Think of the last time you celebrated well into the night. What street were you on? East Palmetto Street (at the Museum's Gala in 2017). We are rarely even up past 11:00, let alone out and about! We are old and no fun at all! 😉
3) The Bee Gees blame it all on those songs that go straight to the heart. What love song always makes you go, "aw ...?" Love this one...
4) Even though their sound depended on tight harmonies, all three Bee Gees were heavy smokers, which is not good for the throat. What habit do you have that wish you could break? Snacking and carbs.
5) In addition to the three Gibbs who sang this song, there was a fourth brother, Andy, who also had hit records. But did you know the Gibbs' had a sister, Lesley? Your turn: share some trivia that's rattling around in your head. Some "Terri Trivia" is that my family lived on Broadway Street, in Washington Court House, Ohio, from the time I was 3 years old until we moved to Millersport when I was 10 years old. It is the home that I have the earliest memories of. My brother was a toddler and my sisters hadn't been born yet, but both were born while we lived in that house on Broadway.
6) "Nights on Broadway" was recorded in Miami. When you think of Florida, what comes to mind? Since I live here, HOME is the first thing that comes to mind, followed by sunshine, Gulf beaches, and fun places to see!
7) In 1975, when this song was popular, Sony introduced the Betamax and JVC gave us the VCR. Sam admits she was glad to see VCRs go because she never could program hers. What about you? Do you adapt easily to new technology? When Joe and I got married (almost 33 years ago), he had a Betamax player and I had the VCR. Betamax gave us a better quality picture but it soon went away as the VCR became more popular (and was less expensive). To answer the question, yes, I can adapt easily to new technology. I've been using computers since the early 1980s, back when everything was DOS and we had 8-inch floppy discs (they really were floppy!).
8) The Bee Gees' greatest success came two years later, in 1977, with the soundtrack to Saturday Night Fever. Have you ever seen the John Travolta movie? I've seen that movie many times, so yes.
9) Random question -- Your mail carrier is very attractive, and flirts with you each day when dropping off the mail. Would you a) ignore it or b) let the carrier know, firmly but politely, that you're not interested or c) complain to your local post office or d) subscribe to more magazines and order more stuff to guarantee that the mail carrier comes every day? If 'he' was just flirting and being cute, I would either ignore it or make a joke back at him that he would understand I'm not interested and he should stop. If he was aggressive, I would for sure turn him in. There is a line you just don't cross...
Thanks so much for joining us again at Saturday: 9. As always, feel free to come back, see who has participated and comment on their posts. In fact sometimes, if you want to read & comment on everyone's responses, you might want to check back again tomorrow. But it is not a rule. We haven’t any rules here. Join us on next Saturday for another version of Saturday: 9, "Just A Silly Meme on a Saturday!" Enjoy your weekend!

The April Challenge question for today is...
#7 What tattoos you have and their special meaning?
This one is easy for me. I don't have any tatts. I've contemplated getting a shamrock with my maiden name written through it (Kelly), but I doubt it will ever happen. If I do, no one but Joe will know where it is! 😀
You can visit Kwizgiver HERE for the April Challenge.
Thanks for coming by today! Happy weekend! Peace & hugs!

"Think of the last time you celebrated well into the night."
ReplyDeleteI think it's been...never? I can't remember!
I kinda wish you'd made up a tattoo, Terri. :) You know, keep us on our toes with tales of when you were a Hell's Angel or something!
Q5 Trivia Fact
ReplyDeleteI started a petition to get sock manufacturers to sell socks in threes rather than in pairs. This way it makes it easier for you to get a matching pair when you pick them from the drawer. Also, it increases their sales by 50%. They ignored me - three times!
Q9 The Postman
I once started a correspondence course on how to keep fit and build a strong body which women would admire. Every day, through the post, I received books, lifting weights, sporting equipment, chest expanders and all other sorts of stuff to make me big and strong. I did not use them for long; but you should have seen the muscles the postman got.
God bless.
No tats here either...nor will I get one...there is just something wrong with women getting these tattos up and down there arms or legs, just my opinion, lol.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, friend.
I don't have any tattoos but my hubby got his first 2 tattoos this week. He got just black. I think they look like someone used a sharpie on his arm. lol
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
No tattoos here either Terri! I think a lot of young people are going to regret the massive tattoos they are placing on their bodies. I want to tell them to buy some art instead...a much better investment.
ReplyDeleteI am not crazy about all those tatoos up and down the arms, on the face, etc. either.....and have always wondered what happens to them when we get to Heaven! lol Thinking of Fla., I remember all the many, many years that we went to Fla. every summer for vacation....I feel I reared my children half in Tenn. and half in Fla.! Thinking of you and Joe this morning and hoping your weekend is a good one.
ReplyDeleteNo tatts for me, anywhere.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the BeeGees' music. A long time ago.
Keeping Joe and you in my prayers!
Snacking and carbs...our big downfall, too. Oh, those first VCRs were really something weren't they? We got our first one while we were living in Florida. I remember the machine often "ate" the tapes and that was a very big deal because those first videos were EXPENSIVE!
ReplyDeleteWe have a Broadway too! It is one of our main streets with schools, churches, a small shopping center and Dairy Queen!!
ReplyDeleteI loved the BeeGees! And no, if I'm up past 10 at night, that's a wonder in itself - and absolutely no late night parties for this gal.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Terri!
I suppose the last time I was up/semi-conscious after midnight was the mid-80's! 'Can't figure the attraction (nor, tattoos for that matter). I envy your being able to easily grasp new technology.
