Week/Weekend Recap on Monday....
Wow....where did the weekend go?!! This past week and weekend are a blur and I really can't tell you that I accomplished anything. We just had appointments scheduled every day.
Monday, we had a business meeting with our friend Helen. We arranged for two trees to be cut down in her backyard and the two in the front yard were trimmed back from the roof. They were damaged during the hurricane so FEMA will be picking up the HUGE pile from her front yard (everyone's front yard has huge piles, not just hers). Now we need to get her a new roof on her house. That is in the works.
Tuesday we had haircut appointments (and that is when Joe and I both fell). Wednesday was my 4-month check up appointment with my primary doctor. All is well. Thursday we did grocery shopping at Sam's and Publix, then I went for my facial appointment.
Friday we took Mary Jane to lunch at Posto 9 in our historic downtown area. She had never been there so it was fun introducing her to their Brazilian-themed menu to thank her for caring for our home and pets while we were in Ohio. She retired a few months before me and just lives across the road from Mas Verde, in Grasslands. So happy to have her help when we travel!
Saturday I did laundry. That made it feel like Sunday to me since Sunday was always my laundry day back when I was working! (grin) Now I do it when I have a day to get it done (usually 5 small loads). Joe had HIS facial appointment (yes, he gets a facial every four weeks too).
I got a call from our friend Gregory asking if we could take him to Celebration (near Orlando) on Sunday. He is scheduled for surgery on Monday at the hospital there and wanted to get to the hotel near there so he wouldn't have Orlando traffic to deal with on Monday. His parents arrived at the hotel (from up north) and were there when we dropped him off. We were happy we had the time to help him out. He has helped us many times. That's what friends do. I would appreciate a whispered prayer for him and his surgical team as you read this, please. Surgery is early afternoon.
In between appointments and running, we watched an entire first season of The Durrells in Corfu, which is a PBS/Masterpiece series. It is so good (like so many are)!! Take a look if you want something new to watch. We have also been watching Hamish McBeth, which is also a British series.
Thankful that neither of us has anything on our calendars today. I have a project to work on and need to get started on it. More about that later!
Happy Monday! Peace & hugs for stopping by!

I'd say you deserve a down day after such a busy week! You do so much for others! Hope your project today goes well!
ReplyDeleteI love the Hamish Macbeth series. I have read all the books and while Robert Carlyle does not look like the Hamish in the books, he does a good good at the character. I love the music on the tv show and that TV John is one of my favorites. ( He was not in the books but that is ok).
ReplyDeleteWow you had a busy week. I hope you + Joe are doing better since the fall.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
What would we do without our friends to help when needed, and you are the same for them. You surely had a busy week, so maybe this one will be more restful. It is another beautiful, hot summer day here, but looking for it cool down by the weekend. Enjoy your Monday.
ReplyDeleteahhh - love when friends help one another out - makes life so much better when you know you have dependable relationships
ReplyDeleteSo you had one busy week - and you are doing things for others. I think ab out you all the time there in Florida. I hope you don't get anymore and I hope things get better. Sorry about your fall - been there - done that. sandie
ReplyDeleteYou certainly did have a busy week, but look at all those you were able to help. I'm glad you have today as a quiet time, though.
ReplyDeleteBusy busy.... Remember how you got it all done when working. I always wonder how I accomplished everything. Sorry you guys had a fall. Hugs, lJ
ReplyDeleteOh, now I'm curious about your upcoming project! I've never had a facial, but it sounds heavenly.
ReplyDeleteI'm probably too late to intercede on Gregory's behalf; instead, I'm going to take a leap of faith and praise God for a good outcome.
I think you and Joe are both wonderful friends.
ReplyDeleteThe facials sound so nice! I'm late for the surgery, but still praying he is doing well this evening.
Waiting to hear about this project!
