Happy Birthday to Joe and oh my gosh....IRMA!!

Today is Joe's birthday! We are celebrating AGAIN at my sister's house, but we are also concerned about our trip back to home with Irma headed right for Florida.  We already discussed stopping along the way for water and supplies before we get home since there has been a run on supplies.

We had plans to take our time and meander a bit but have decided we need to push it instead and just get home to our kitties and to prepare for Irma.  If it gets really bad, out clubhouse is a shelter so we have a safe place to go.  If we didn't have pets, we would just stay in Ohio.  Not leaving my fur-children alone though.

Prayers for safe travels are always appreciated.  Guardian Angels, gather near!

Peace & hugs.

  5. Have a safe trip home. At least the southern route home shouldn't be as crowded as the northern route! Everyone is leaving the state! Be careful!!

  6. Prayers for a safe trip home and that the intensity of Irma will lessen. So very scary, right on the shirt-tails of Harvey.

  9. Happy Birthday to Joe! My dear friends live in Jensen Beach, they are a vacuum waiting I'm leaving tomorrow. Could you perhaps find some friends to take your fur babies? Maybe staying put in Ohio is the safest place to be? Thinking of you!

  11. Happy Birthday to your dear Joe!

Irma is an unwelcome situation as you end your wonderful trip. As of Sept. 6 at 8am EDT, the storm is sorta tracking a little more east (up the center of Florida or possibly just off the Atlantic coast). No matter. We expect heavy rain and sustained winds wherever the eye of the storm tracks. It's exciting in a terrifying way. Be safe.

  12. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Joe! So glad we got to be a small part of your birthday week celebration!
Bummer on IRMA. I don't blame you for needing to get back. Praying that it is not as bad as it could be. It can still change directions and hope it does so before reaching land.

  14. Happy birthday, Joe! Hope you had a good one.

Travel safely. I understand about you wanting to get home before Irma hits. Get as much supplies on your way as you can. I hear the stores in FL are empty.

  15. Happy Birthday to Joe! Be safe on your travels home and get your supplies before you get into Florida. I talked to my friend in Orlando and she said that the shelves are bare. She was only looking for a loaf of bread. You are really brave to go back home. I guess you didn't know before the trip that a hurricane was in the Atlantic.

  16. Oh Terri, I have been praying for Florida!! It just sounds so ominous. The back half of Lisa and George's new house, toward the lake, is all glass. If the storm does not turn they will be leaving.
