Friday Foto Friends....

I've missed a few days, but have a few minutes to join in with Deb at Breathing In Grace for a Friday Foto Friends post....

Our trip north has been great.  Tuesday was tiring because we were on the road for over 15 hours.  It was broken up by a 2-3 hour visit with my sister, Tammy, and her hubby Bruce.  She fed us a delicious lunch, we had time for some sister time out shopping a bit and we all had a good visit.  I can't believe I didn't take one picture while there.  Not one and I had every intention of getting at least a shot of us together.

We hit the road and went on an adventure, trying to skirt around Atlanta's rush hour.  We got a great set of directions from Lynda's son-in-law and headed out for Columbus, Georgia.  The ride was so much nicer than being on the interstate.  We stopped for dinner at Longhorn Steak House in Columbus, then headed out for LaGrange.  It got dark and started raining and I got a little concerned about losing our way since there were two or three more little towns to get through before making our way back to I-75.  We decided to keep on going toward Atlanta (well after rush hour) and hit I-75 a just barely north of Atlanta.  It took us a little longer, losing our northbound advantage, but we had no issues, no traffic and felt a little safer staying on well-traveled roads.  We stopped about an hour south of Chattanooga for the night.

Our first stop on Wednesday was in Cleveland, Tennessee, where we were meeting up with blogging and Facebook friend, Lynda, her hubby and youngest grandson.  We had a delicious breakfast at the City Cafe Diner.  Delicious.  We also stopped to look at the amazing cakes on display.  NOT on the low-carb diet at all, but we looked.  Oh, my goodness!!  Our time with friends there was so much fun.  We talked and laughed and reminisced for over three hours, including a trip to a park not far from the restaurant where there is a big yellow chair attraction. We stood there and talked some more before finally tearing ourselves away to get back on the interstate.  Thanks, Lynda, for the great breakfast and delightful visit!!

We had an easy ride of only five hours from there and stopped early for the night in Kentucky.  We had dinner at a Mexican restaurant that we could walk to from the hotel, and then turned the lights out just after 8:00 pm.  We were ready for a good sleep.  Got up in time for breakfast at the hotel and it was just a short one hour across the Ohio River into Cincinnati.  We were there well after the rush hour and didn't even have a slow-down.  Yay!!  Our target destination was the Tanger Outlets in Jeffersonville, Ohio, where Joe picked out his birthday presents (plural) and I also picked up a few things at two of my favorite stores (Christopher & Banks and Lane Bryant (tall slacks!).  We had lunch there and it was then just about 50 minutes on to my sister-in-law's house, where we will stay until Sunday.

That's our trip so far.  More family arriving today and tomorrow so I won't get back here for a few more days. Thanks for checking in!!  Peace & hugs!!

  19. I missed this post too! Obviously because I was a little bit busy that weekend. All that driving day after day. We used to do road trips like that. I remember one time we made it from Lancaster County, PA to Wisconsin Dells in one day!

So how tall are you, Terri? I never thought about you being tall until I saw you standing beside Lynda. Maybe she's extremely short like me.
