Firsts!

Gleep.  Bud has been very nice to me, but now it's my first week!  While I'm getting my feet wet, I'm posting a meme I found a long time ago at http://smoi.simplyshannon.com/, a site that is no longer valid, apparently, but as this is my first Sunday Stealing, it seems appropriate to do a list of firsts.  I'm hoping I get Mr. Linky to work...still trying....

First Job: Baby-sitting

First Real Job: Waitress in an ice cream parlor

First Favorite Politician: President Kennedy

First Car:  I didn't have my own car (in my name) until I was 32 years old.  Ford Escort.

First Record/CD: It would have been a 45 rpm and I have no idea which was first.

First Sport Played: I ran track in high school

First Concert:  Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass at the Ohio State Fair, with my mom

First Foreign Country Visited:  Canada (do we really consider Canada 'foreign'?) Italy.

First Favorite TV Show: Mickey Mouse Club (with Annette Funicello)

First Favorite Actor:  Paul Peterson (The Donna Reed Show)

First Favorite Actress: Shirley Temple

First Girlfriend/Boyfriend:  Archie Gary in high school; Doug Pillows in 4th grade but he didn't know about it! LOL

First Encounter with a Famous Person: I was on the Aunt Fran show when I was too young to really remember; my cousin is Justin Chambers and I first encountered him right after he was born - long before he became famous! 

First Brush With Death: Not sure what this really means. The first death I remember was going to my great-grandmother's funeral.  My first fear that death could be imminent was when I got a cancer diagnosis. Praise God I'm still here! 

First House/Condo Owned: was in Huron, Ohio, on Lake Erie

First Film Seen: the first one I remember is Old Yeller

First Favorite Recording Artist:  Besides Herb Alpert, the Rolling Stones

First Favorite Radio Station: Not sure but I think it was WCOL am and was rock & roll on my transistor radio - leather case and SEVEN transistors!!  Who remembers that?! LOL

First Book I Remember Reading: I read lots of books and won certificates for reading in elementary school. I really don't remember the first book I read but Mary Poppins stands out for me, and Darby O'Gill and the Little People.  Later, I read all the Trixie Belden and Nancy Drew books.
