There is always so much to be thankful for.
This week the first thing I'll mention is that the auditors will be done this week! They may be in briefly today, but basically their on-site work is done and they say it went very well.
I am thankful that Joe's ankle isn't worse and is hopefully beginning to heal. Back-story.... Vinny needed to go back to the SPCA on Monday to have his ear infection checked. Joe said he could handle it. While trying to catch Vinny (by grabbing his tail), Vinny took offense and chomped down on Joe's ankle. Four deep puncture wounds later, I told him to go to urgent care for antibiotics. Cat bites will cause bad infections. He now has marker marks on his leg and foot showing where the infection has traveled so we would know if it is getting worse. Antibiotics and salve are working. This is not Joe's ankle, but it could be....
He did get Vinny into his carrier and to the clinic. Vinny still has some infection so had to have another treatment. He has to go back in two weeks....Joe says he has learned his lesson. He isn't mad at Vinny and is the first to say that it was his fault and that Vinny was just being a cat.
I am thankful for the great weekend we had with our two grandchildren and their mom last weekend. You saw photos already, but we are still talking about how nice it was.
I am thankful that we found 800 Words on Acorn TV. Totally enjoying this series!!
I am thankful that we have no plans for this weekend coming up. Who knows what we'll find to do...or not do!!

Thankful - - that I got out early and treated the poison ivy with Round Up. It's a constant battle when you live next to the woods/forest.

Our Big cat, Silver, was jumping down from a chair a few weeks ago when I happened to walk past. His back claws landed on my ankle rather than the floor. It was a very deep scratch. Fortunately I was on antibiotics for upper respiratory infection. That has taken forever to heal - - - from the inside out. It had varying degrees of redness and itching. Poor Joe - - will be praying.
Keep an eye on that bite. When I was a young nurse I cared for a patient who had cat scratch fever and it has stayed with me. He was a very sick young man. Glad you are ready for a relaxing weekend. Marvin starts Physical Therapy for his back and tomorrow we go for the epidural so hoping our weekend will be better.
ReplyDeleteI was happy to learn after thinking for a good while about how the pic was his ankle. Happy that it wasn't his ankle! Just couldn't get the parts together. Keep your eye on the infection... sometimes IV antibiotics are required.

DeleteStacy, it is British TV and you can subscribe for $4.99 a month with your Roku, Firestick, etc. We have enjoyed so many shows though Acorn! 800 Words is about a single dad raising a daughter and son. He is a writer and does a column, for a magazine, that is only 800 words. They moved from Sydney Australia to a very small town in New Zealand 'to start over'. The kids are miserable, miss their mom who died suddenly and are learning about who their dad is in this town where he vacationed as a child. Really good so far.

ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about Joe's tangle with Vinnie. Glad he went to the Dr. and got antibiotics. Praying the infection stops right where it began. I do hope you can have a peaceful and relaxing weekend...after this ordeal and your audit, etc., I know you enjoyed your company this past weekend...but it will be good to "let your hair down" and rest this weekend! Blessings...

ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean about still talking how much you enjoyed your weekend. I find myself just constantly reminiscing and smiling (or laughing) about mine.
Thanking God, your Joe's incident wasn't worse! ... and Vinny's infection is under control.
ReplyDeleteBack in '08 I suffered a dog bite(s) resulting in 6 days hospitalization and later, home IV therapy. Funny, I never felt the slightest bit poorly, but they refused to release me to go back to work until the blood infection was gone. Who'd have guessed?
