Technically, since this is a holiday Monday, it is still basically the weekend, but we'll go with the Saturday-Sunday recap anyway...
Joe and I went to bed around 10:00 on New Year's Eve. So much for ringing in the new year! Ha! During the day, I cleaned out a couple of drawers and threw away more than I kept...kudos for me! Miles to go, however!
Yesterday, Helen and Cheryl came over for lunch. I made a pork roast with sauerkraut and we also had mashed potatoes and black-eyed peas. Sent some of the leftovers home with them and we will snack on some today.
Joe and I will try to get a few things accomplished before we have to get cleaned up for the theater. One of my tasks will be laundry (and I'll think it's Sunday all day - count on it).
Tonight, we have tickets for "42nd Street" at our local Lakeland Center theater! This will be my 4th time seeing this wonderful musical production. It is a favorite. I saw it twice at the Kennedy Center, and at the National Theater in DC. I LOVE tap dancing and will most likely have goose-bumps through the entire show. We have had the tickets for 3-4 months. I should have taken a vacation day for Tuesday because we will be out late, but....worth it.
Back to work tomorrow. Ugh. I've loved having this past week off! I'm not looking forward to juggling work and packing and house hunting, but I'll get it done. We have until February 28th. That sounds like tomorrow instead of 58 days. Yikes!
Happy New Year! Thanks for your visit today! Peace & hugs!

Enjoy the 42nd St. production. You are so wise to begin sorting and throwing away. Knowing you and Joe, you will have it all done and be ready for the big day. Keep us posted on the place you choose to move to and pictures too! Have a great last day of 'weekend'.
ReplyDeleteHave you found another place yet, Terri? Just wondering, wondering if I missed that post...
ReplyDeleteThe banks and the city/county are closed here today...everything reopens tomorrow. Have a beautiful day friend.
Not yet, Linda. Just looking at the MLS lists our realtor sends. We will start looking this week, hopefully! I'm not going to buy a place just to have a place to move. It has to be right. We can rent for a spell if we have to, and store our stuff. No pressure. It will all work out.
DeleteEnjoy your show. Can't wait to hear about your house hunting experiences.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
That does sound like tomorrow instead of 58 days when packing up a house is involved. The girls gave me tickets to go hear Garrison Keillor for my birthday. They said I could take anyone I wanted to so I'm taking Reni (Baby M's mommy) because she loves him as much as I do. Plus, I'm sure it was her idea to get the tickets. :) The other lovelies like him, too but Reni and I are faithful listeners to the tales of Lake Wobegon. And laughers. :) I'm glad you've had the time off. Do you feel like you're on the downhill side now since you retire in June?
ReplyDeleteNot quite yet, Pam, but I sure am looking forward to it....
DeleteHow exciting! Going to see a live production, it's wonderful! Hope you have a great evening!
ReplyDeleteI am getting used to Marvin NOT going to work every morning. He is supposed to go back later this week. I can see that retirement is an adjustment. Your lunch sounds great. I am back on my diet and walking!!
ReplyDeleteHave fun at your show. That sounds wonderful! I love the theater even though I seldom go.
ReplyDelete58 days will fly by. You are wise to begin throwing things out and packing up now.
Oh, I hope Helen and Cheryl will make it a point to continue visiting once you move. They sound like special ladies, indeed.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the theatre, but have never seen 42nd Street. How fun, getting spiffed up and going on a date with your love ...even if it does happen on a week-night. :) Have fun!
Helen has been our good friend (along with her husband, who died 3 years ago) for 28 years. We take care of her finances and business and are health-care surrogates, so we will continue to be in touch and see her at least once a week. Cheryl is her niece, who lives with her and helps care for her needs. Helen is 88 years young.
DeleteOh, what fun to see 42nd Street. Have a wonderful time. The pork roast and sauerkraut sounds delicious. February 28 gives you a couple of months. Best of luck in finding just the right place to move. And pace yourself on packing.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the show! That is one I've never seen.
ReplyDeleteOh, what a fun evening you and Mr. Joe will have. HOPE you're not too tired in the morning and that your work day will be easy.
ReplyDeletePraying God will lead you to the very perfect house in record time. He already knows where it is, and He is going before you preparing the way. It will be ready right on time! So relax and leave the driving/house hunting to HIM! I'll say a prayer for you as you go back to work and balance all of these issues. God will see you through it!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you are having a wonderful evening after a great week! I know that God already has the right house for you and Joe, he just needs to show it to you!
ReplyDeleteI stopped in today to see what's new in Bloggerland. I'm wanting very much to start again and I think I'm in a place where I can. Reading through some of the comments here tells me I need to catch up! Looks like some big changes in store for you in the new year?
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that musical!!! Haven't seen it in years.
ReplyDeleteI'm just catching up here and realizing what exciting days you have ahead! BLESSINGS to you and Joe in your search for a new home. Packing and moving is such an overwhelming task, even unpacking and deciding where to put everything. But a few months later it all settles down and you almost forget all the hassle it was. I pray for peace, clear direction, and good health in this new year.
