Thankful Thursday....
If it's Thursday, it is time to link up with Rebecca Jo, at Knit by God's Hand, for Thankful Thursday!
Well, we are back in business it seems! Our buyers have agreed to share the cost of the new roof which makes us so happy! We are moving forward on an inspection at the new house and getting financing in place. We're almost there. Thankful!!
I am also thankful that we will have the whole month of February to get things moved over to the new place. We'll do as much as we can with our cars and then hire movers for the furniture and heavier boxes. With a little luck and a whole lot of hard work, we can be moved in before we close on this house.
I am thankful that Joe is able to handle dealing with the realtor for our house, hiring the roofers, getting insurance in place for the new house, etc., etc. He has been great!
This morning I will be attending the annual Economic Forecast Breakfast, hosted by our Chamber of Commerce. My boss and I will be guests of one of the Museum's investment companies. Thankful for the free tickets! I've written about this breakfast each year so my longer-time connections will remember previous years. I really enjoy getting the information presented - plus the breakfast is really good!
I also have a doctor appointment this afternoon...my 'welcome to Medicare' physical. Following that, I'll get my every-four-weeks facial. This all means Joe is in charge of getting dinner for us. Yay!! Thankful that I have good insurance, that I get to spend an hour with my friend Dawn while she does my facial (we talk the entire time!) and that Joe will have something good for dinner when I get home.
So many blessings, and I am so thankful for your prayers and for prayers answered!
I had someone question why we are moving. I forget that not everyone catches every blog. We are moving in preparation for my retirement later this year. We no longer need a big yard to care for and especially we don't need a pool to maintain. In order to cut expenses and prepare for a fixed income, we are downsizing. I am so excited about this!!
Thanks for your visit! Peace & hugs.

And, I'm so excited for you! My dream is to someday move (as you know) to the property my Mom gave us and live in a smaller home with just a patch to mow (well, the rest will have to be bush-hogged, but that's done now). Dreams...and HOPE's!!! So very glad things worked out and that worry is off of you!
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear all the good news! Happy Happy day indeed! xo
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to hear this good news. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
I am so excited for you...good luck with the physical...smiles
ReplyDeleteYaaaaay! God never lets us down, does He? Your life and times will change greatly, and so glad you will be moved and settled, before THE BIG DAY of retirement. Joe is a keeper, but you already knew that...lol You have a busy day for sure. xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteWe are enjoying Marvin's retirement by being able to go to the country house today Terri. There are many perks to retiring. So glad it worked out that y'all can buy your dream house. I hope you do get moved in soon ....it is so much easier if you do not have to wait until closing to get out of the old house. That facial sounds perfect after a doctor's appointment !
ReplyDeleteTerri, I am so thrilled with how God has answered prayers and the buyers of your home have agreed to help meet the cost of the new roof! God is SO good!
ReplyDeleteSounds like things are looking up for you.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right that health insurance - GOOD insurance - is a blessing.
So glad you came to an agreement about the roof. Nice to have that extra time to get packing & switched over.
I told ya to keep packing. :) It's wonderful to down size. Quite enlightening. It's the gift of freedom with a big red bow. Blessings. ~:)
ReplyDeleteWooHoo...so glad it all worked out!! And now...the packing continues!! So delighted that the buyers accepted your offer, a true blessing from God!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your upcoming retirement!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your positive news. Looks like it's all coming together. Praying for no more glitches. Good luck with all the packing, sorting etc.
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for you - that's a good reason to be moving! How exciting to be moving into a new place - a fresh, start sort of feeling. I'm glad things seem to be coming together for your move all reasons to be thankful!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for y'all, Terri!!! Joe's dealing with the realtor and insurance, etc. is a blessing, indeed. That sort of stuff makes my toes curl.
ReplyDeleteI've never had a facial! Someday, I'm going to treat myself. (Maybe.)
Praising God that things are moving forward as originally planned!!!Such a huge blessing!
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear that the move is on again! God is working it all out just as we knew He would...perfectly in His time and His way. It will be wonderful. Now, a facial every 4 weeks? Wow! That must be divine! I've never had a facial! But how do you talk all the time she's giving it to you? I would think it would make the "mud" crack! LOL. Shows how much I know about facials! Enjoy and relax...all is well!!! So happy for you.
ReplyDeleteMy facial is a deep clean and moisturizing facial. I don't get a mask! It's easy to talk. I recommend a facial to everyone. It is SO relaxing!
DeleteHooray! I'm so glad everything is working out for you!
