Friday Foto Friends!

If it's Friday, a whole bunch of us are linking up at Breathing In Grace for Debbie's Friday Foto Friends!!

Once again, I don't' have any new photos to share. Our house is a mess with boxes and bubble wrap and packing tape and stuff sitting everywhere.  Not picture worthy.  I did dig up some photos of the outside of our house that we are leaving soon.

See the flock of Ibis in the side yard below?  That's our yard. We own the lot between our house and the neighbor's house.  It's much too big for us to keep taking care of.

We have a beautiful pool in our back yard. It has seen hours of fun with the grandkids, nieces, and nephews. We used to enjoy it all the time, but not so much anymore.  It costs a lot for chemicals and the added electricity needed for the pump to run 6-8 hours a day.

We are trading all of it in for a tiny postage stamp yard that will cost us $25 a month to have it mowed and trimmed.  We will have the use of a huge heated pool and a jacuzzi that someone else will take care of for us!  Our new house is 1,474 square feet compared to our current house which is 1,535 square feet. We will still have three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It is not going to be difficult to adapt. We are so blessed that this is all working out for us

This is the Mas Verde Community Pool.

Our new home is on lot 167. This map makes it look cramped and crowded, but it isn't.  We're on the outer edge and are close to the side gate, which is really convenient.  Joe wants a golf cart now.  When I retire and we only need one car, I imagine we will get a golf cart.  We need to collect our mail at the clubhouse so the golf cart will come in handy!  Sweet retirement, here we come!

My lunch-bunch girlfriends are gathering at Panera Bread for lunch today.  Looking forward to it. We haven't been together since my birthday in mid-December.  They have no idea that all of this is going on with us!  Surprise!

Thanks for your visit today!  Happy weekend!  Peace & hugs.

  6. SO exciting!!! I cant wait to see pictures from your new home.
We had a pool inground when we moved in our home. We had it one year & I just couldnt deal with it. It was so expensive & so much to upkeep with it. So we had it removed. Best decision ever.

  12. Your front lawn looks so lush and inviting! But hey, I can totally empathize with y'all about leaving the money pit (i.e., swimming pool) behind.

Mas Verde sounds like a WIN-WIN situation!

  14. The more I read about your move the more excited I get for you! What a great looking place. I would be very content in a place like that. I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of the new place now and all your move in adventures!

  16. I like the older style Florida homes. I grew up in one that was built in 1957 with a flat, gravel roof, jalousy windows and no A/C or ceiling fans! I know. How did I survive ... *lol* Happy to hear it's all going well now. God is so good. Hope y'all like the community living. I'm a country girl and like having my big property with no neighbors. Hope the rest of your day is blessed! ~:)

  17. Oh, I can't tell you how happy I am for you and just a wee bit envious. I so wanted us to downsize and now it doesn't look possible for us. What a wonderful place to get to move. Wow, your grass is so green.

  21. Your home is beautiful but I can certainly understand how it's too much to run at this stage. Ray and I are contemplating going into a 55+ community for the same reasons as you've stated. Good luck with everything.

  22. Looks an ideal set up. Although I'd hold out on the golf cart to encourage some walking unless it's too far. Hard to tell from the map. I do hope it all comes together for you Terri.
