Missing the Hodgepodge Wednesday....
The Hodgepodge is on hiatus this week. What to use for a fill in?!! Oh, my! Tidbits....
Our son Joe arrived yesterday, late afternoon and is visiting until Thursday. We went out for Thai food when I got home from work. We tried a new place called Thai Oishi and it was excellent! We shared a California roll and spring rolls and each had a different main course. I had Shrimp Pad Thai, which was excellent. We will definitely go again.
Tonight, Sheila is joining us for dinner. I think we will go to Miller's Ale House. They have a great menu there. We "owe" Sheila a birthday dinner that we just haven't been able to share with her yet, so this will make a good time to get together with her.
For my newer readers who don't know the background for these friends I've mentioned - Helen, Cheryl, and Sheila.... Sheila and her husband Al were neighbors (and good friends) of ours and went to our church for years and years. Al died two years ago. Sheila recently sold her house (just three houses down the street from us) and bought a new smaller home not too far away. She is fixing it up, with the help of her sons. Helen and her husband Al (yes, both were Alfred/Al) have been friends of ours since we moved to Lakeland 27 years ago. Al was a CPA (like Joe) and also went to our church. Al died three years ago. Helen is now 88 and asked us to take care of her business matters for her. We are honored to help. Cheryl is Helen's niece who moved down a few years ago. When Al died, she moved in with Helen which is helping both of them. So that explains our female friends who used to be "couples" friends of ours.
That's all I have for you today. Thanks for coming by!! Peace & hugs.

ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful day friend.
Have a great visit!!
ReplyDeleteThankful for friendships that last over the years.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
ReplyDeleteI've really gotten into Thai food too. Brunswick, GA, has a nice Thai place which the name escapes me at the moment.
ReplyDeleteNice to hear y'all had a good visit. So sad that your friend lost her hubby. How sad but happy to hear she has y'all for help. When we help, or are kind to others, we serve God. ~:)
Basil? We've eaten there twice and it is really good. Joey and Darlene love it.
DeleteThanks for the explanation of who's who. It's good to know you look out for your single friends. Sometimes it can be hard when a partner is left on their own. We used to have a great thai place near us but unfortunately it closed down. It was really basic, more of a cafe than a restaurant but the food was really good. Haven't found a replacement yet.
ReplyDeleteGood friends are a blessing!
ReplyDeleteI hate when the Hodgepodge isn't there! Though, I have to admit I don't really have time to post today so at least I won't feel guilty for missing it this week. lol
Just like Stacy said, good friends are a blessing. Hope you're having a great week!
ReplyDeleteThanks for 'filling in the blanks', Terri!
ReplyDeleteI've never tasted Thai food, but it sounds intriguing ...
I liked reading the history of your friendships! It's great that you have kept up the friendship after the passing of their husbands. I know that is hard for some people. You and Joe are a blessing!
ReplyDeleteThai food is my fave. Still trying to find great thai food here. What we've found is okay but definitely not great. Enjoy your weekend!
