Weekend Recap on Monday....

Friday night Joe and I decided to try a Mexican restaurant that has been here a long time, but one that we have never tried.  Dona Julia's was just okay.  We will stick with Tappa Tio's from now on.  Then we went to Publix for prescriptions and a few groceries.

We started watching "Stranger Things" on Netflix.  WOW, did we get hooked!  We have Rebecca Jo from Knit By God's Hands to thank for recommending it!! Strange and scary!

Saturday night I grilled steaks, made baked potatoes and corn for our dinner.  We then continued watching Stranger Things.  When we finished those eight shows, we started watching season one of "Quantico".  It is also a good show!!  Vegetables.  We're vegetables.

Sunday it was nearly more of the same.  Joe loves the Red Zone channel so he can see all the "red zone" action from all the games. If the Eagles game is on, he watches it.  If not, it's Red Zone all day long. More Quantico followed Red Zone.

I did get laundry done, and I also made banana bread with some very over-ripe bananas.  For dinner, I made beef and broccoli.  I used a slow-cooker recipe but did it like stir-fry in a skillet instead. It worked beautifully, with just a little more water than called for in the recipe.  The banana bread recipe is from my Church Women's recipe book. I doubled it for two loaves.  The stir-fry recipe is from somewhere on-line.

That was my very uneventful weekend. Hope yours was more exciting, but we did enjoy not having anything to run to!

Thanks for stopping by!  Peace & hugs.

  3. Banana Bread?! Want my phone number!? Yeah, it's one of My Favorite Things. That and anything with cinnamon in it.
Hey do you believe that baloney that the HildaBeast has pneumonia? The symptoms are more like an embolism or drug overdose. *wink*
And I'm totally 'stealing' your Basket sign. Count me in!
    Have a blessed day. ~:)

    1. No, I don't believe anything that she says or that her network says. I stole the basket sign so you are welcome to it too! LOL

  5. So glad you liked Stranger Things... it's a scary kinda fun thing to watch, isn't it? I just LOVE those kids. They are just so good - & so cute together in real life if you ever watch any of their interviews.

    1. The kids are great young actors! I've not seen any interviews but bet they are fun. Keep me posted about season two, if you hear before I do!!

  6. I'm soooo going to try this beef and broccoli recipe! I love Atkins' beef merlot and broccoli frozen dinners, but they're getting absurdly expensive. :(

  7. I don't know. I think it was pretty eventful with all that vegging and cooking and tv watching that gave your eyeballs a great workout! The banana bread looks very good. I made banana bread last week, too. I think my husband would really like the beef and broccoli dish. Happy Monday.

  8. I have a fabulous banana bread recipe (coconut banana bread with a lime glaze)...it sounded odd to me at first, but that glaze adds a lot. Sometimes a veggie weekend is in order : )

  10. I think your boring weekend sounds nice. At least you and your husband watched TV together. My hubby worked Saturday and still isn't feeling well so spends his time off napping.
