Linking up with Rebecca Jo, over at Knit by God's Hand! What are you thankful for this week? Link up and join us!!
Nostalgia.
I'm thankful for my growing-up years and the wonderful supportive family from which I came...
For my brother and silly sisters...
For 31+ years with Joe in my life....
For those same years with Joey and Jeff in my life....
And for our grandchildren who are 27 and 20 now, but will always look like this to me...
And for a post on Facebook by my friend, Teena (who I am also thankful for)....
....that almost made me cry listening to this silly old song that I used to sing and still knew most of the words to. 'Old Grandfather's Clock'...
Now, if this isn't a crazy kind of thankful post, I don't know what is. All this nostalgia sparked by a silly song. Music does have a way of reminding us of times in our lives and the emotions that go with it. Do you have any silly songs that make you stop and remember to be thankful?
Thanks for stopping by today! Thanks to Rebecca Jo for hosting the link-up!! Peace & hugs!!

That's truly a lot to be thankful for. God is merciful and kind to allow us such loving memories. Thank YOU for sharing the love. Hope your day is blessed. ~:)
ReplyDeleteShirley Temple -- always a cheerful little personality!
ReplyDeleteAs for a silly song that makes me smile? I like the many tunes on the Veggie Tales videos, maybe especially Larry who sings, "O where is my hairbrush?"
My children learned Grandfather's Clock at school when they were young. I had never heard of it but you are right, it is a good one. Love seeing all your sweet family. Your granddaughter could have been a child model...beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love that - I have so many songs - especially old country songs that my dad would always play, that takes me right back to being in the truck next to him :)
ReplyDeleteI always see my step daughters like that too - little kids in pigtails. How did they get to be grown women???
So many songs and memories flood my memory, especially in the fall. For some reason, it feels like a sentimental time of the year. Enjoy your pictures today and the song too! Happy Thursday.
ReplyDeleteI never heard Grandpa Jones' version of this song, but remember singing it in the grade school chorus. Never forget the lyrics and the giggles!
ReplyDelete... and speaking of giggles, I love seeing the 'No Evil' sisters shot!
I am grinning from ear to ear! I loved this post and enjoyed all the great pictures. Family and friends, our greatest treasures!
ReplyDeleteOh that was fun! Love all the pictures, and Shirley Temple at the end! Grandpa Jones is great. You made me thankful to have so many new friends here in cyber-space! Thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteTerri, You have a beautiful family. I enjoyed the photos very much. Yes, music has a way of taking us back to a moment in time and triggers memories. I rode by my childhood home earlier this week and also visited my parents' graves. Like you, I am thankful for my Christian, loving family.
