A Boombastic Saturday 9.....

Welcome to the Saturday 9 and a thank you to Crazy Sam for posting the questions that always keep us guessing!  I will say right upfront that I have no idea who this artist is and had never heard the song but that doesn't mean the questions won't be fun and interesting.....

Mr. Boombastic

Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!

Saturday 9: Mr. Boombastic (1995)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) This song is a rather shameless come-on by an accomplished ladies' man. Do you enjoy flirting?  No. Never really did and am not good at it anyway.

2) Shaggy sings that he's like a turtle coming out of his shell. Do you think turtles, snakes and lizards make good pets? Or would you prefer a companion animal that has fur or feathers?  Lots of people keep turtles, snakes and lizards for pets, but they are not my idea of a pet.  Give me a companion animal that has fur and can sit with me and cuddle.  Ha!!  Maybe that's why I fell for a fuzzy Italian guy!!  :)

3) He also sings that if you don't feel like driving, you should hand him the keys. Are you comfortable letting others drive your car?  It usually doesn't bother me, but I don't just turn the keys over to anyone.

4) He tries to woo the girl with the promise of a bubble bath. Do you enjoy relaxing in the tub? Or do you view baths and showers as simply part of your hygiene routine, like brushing your teeth?  It has been years since I sat in a bathtub. I don't enjoy it. I take a shower every morning, so I guess it's part of my hygiene routine.

5) Born Orville Burrell, Shaggy took his stage name from his shaggy hair. Using your hair as inspiration, what would your stage name be?  Curly.

6) Sam admits she hadn't thought about this 20+ year old song in years, until she heard it on a Chase Bank commercialAccording to the Federal Reserve Bank, check writing dropped more than 50% between 2000 and 2010. Who received the last check you wrote?  Dawn, who does my facials every four weeks. She doesn't take credit/debit cards.

7)  Which would you prefer to receive in a birthday card: a $25 check or a $20 Target gift card?  I don't shop at Target so I'll take the check right to the bank!

8) Sam's mother refuses to pay bills online. All the news stories about data breaches scare her. Have you ever been hacked? If so, did it take long to get the situation resolved?  Thankfully, no, but we pay dearly for LifeLock to make sure it never happens, or if it does they will handle it for us.

9) In 1995, when this song was popular, Michael Jordan "un-retired" and returned to the Chicago Bulls. Tell us about a decision you made that you wish you could undo.  I don't regret any decision I've made because each one got me to where I am today, and I'm really comfortable with that.

Thanks so much for joining us again at Saturday: 9. As always, feel free to come back, see who has participated and comment on their posts. In fact sometimes, if you want to read & comment on everyone's responses, you might want to check back again tomorrow. But it is not a rule. We haven’t any rules here. Join us on next Saturday for another version of Saturday: 9, "Just A Silly Meme on a Saturday!" Enjoy your weekend!

Thanks for your visit today!  I'm SO glad it's Saturday and we have no plans (other than sleeping in).  Hope yours is a good one!!

Peace & hugs, y'all!!

  2. I haven't the foggiest idea who Shaggy is, LOLOL. We don't pay bills online either, and I would of answered most of them the same way.

    Have a beautiful day.

  4. Do you not shop at Target for any particular reason? Our kids have always liked it better than us. I really don't like shopping in a red store - - not calming to look at. Also, their prices - - even on sale are not phenomenal.
Then when they pulled their little bathroom stunt with allowing whomever wherever - - depending on what gender you felt you were - - that sealed the deal for me not going there anymore. There are too many other options. Leadership like that does not deserve my money. Yup - - I am super conservative and God-fearing and non-apologetic about it. My kids tell me to be careful I will offend someone. I told them that truth is truth and they are going to regret one day that more people are being politically correct.
Sorry - - that was blunt.

    1. Lynda, we don't shop Target because it is out of the way for us to get to. We have gone in a few times and just never find anything we want to buy and decided it's not worth the trip over there (or up there - we have two in Lakeland).

  6. I've wondered now and then about LifeLock, but never knew anyone who actually subscribed. Good, hmmm?
Chalk me up as another FORMER Target shopper. Lynda certainly said it best!

PS - I never heard "Mr. Bombastic" before and tried to watch the video. 'Only made it to the 47-second mark, then couldn't take it anymore. Even the dogs ran away ...lol!

  7. Who picks this 'music' ... ? Never heard of the guy and now I know why. Guess I'm officially old. *grin* I don't take bath's either. Showers are much faster and hygienic.
I never use debit. It's either cash or a check. It's hard to 'hack' that. And I plan to never shop at Target again unless they become under new management and get some morals. ~:)

  8. I have never heard of this song - that is the case for most of the songs on Saturday 9. Your answers are good, down to earth and I'm in the conservative and Christ loving club with you.
