Day Two...New Orleans!
Another quick post to let you know we arrived in New Orleans late this afternoon. We slept in this morning, not in a hurry at all. We were only four hours away. Had a nice breakfast at Cracker Barrel and then headed West. We stopped at an outlet mall and walked a bit. Made a couple of purchases but no really good bargains there.
Our hotel is very nice (The Blake Hotel, New Orleans) and our room quite comfy. Tomorrow we are headed up to Baton Rouge for the day, meeting blogging friend Vic and his sweetheart, Tina. Vic doesn't blog anymore, since Multiply went away, but I am connected to him and Tina on FB. We have "known" each other for eight years or so. It will be so much fun meeting in person!
No great photos yet, since all we've really done is drive. We actually decided to take a longer trip home and go the Scenic Highway, along the Gulf. It will be much more interesting.
The weather outlook isn't great this week. It is hot and humid and some storms are expected. Glad we have been here before so won't be horribly disappointed to not see some of the sights. As long as we make it to the Cafe DuMonde we will be happy!
Brenda in Madrid....I doubt we will even make it to Bourbon Street. It is "dead" during the day and is not really a place we want to be at night....old fuddie-duddies that we are! LOL If we happen to get there, I'll look for the web-camera and give it a wave. Doubtful, though. We are blocks and blocks from there, on the west side of the French Quarter.
That's all for tonight! Thanks for checking in! Peace & hugs!

Glad you arrived safely. Can't wait to see pics
ReplyDeleteIt would be almost impossible to see someone on a webcam unless there was an arrangement for a certain time. That was a joke. Hope you enjoy your visit with your multiply friend too.
ReplyDeleteImpossible, probably but I would try it anyway!

DeleteSounds like you are having a good time. Just getting out of town with your Sweetie is saying a lot! Dodge those rain storms, enjoy the air conditioning, and eat well! Looking forward to your snapshots later on!
