Tuesday Tidbits....

  • This is going to feel like Monday to me, all day!  It was so nice having an extra day off yesterday!

  • I did get laundry done, but need to take down curtains (all over the house) and get them washed and hung back up.  I'm embarrassed to say how long it's been since I did that.

  • Yesterday, Joe and I went to a local jeweler to get batteries put in three of my watches.  I bought a very inexpensive watch (none of my watches are expensive!) a week or so ago that is water resistant.  My old "beach watch" bit the dust and I needed one to wear in the pool and at the beach. I had to get a new band for it, though, because it was too small.  We got that done while there, too.  We have been using Foshee Jewelers for years and years.  It is a mom and pop kind of place and they specialize in clocks and watches and jewelry repairs.

  • While we were out, we decided to check out a new veterinarian that one of my co-workers recommended.  After Onyx went un-diagnosed for so long, we decided to try a new place.  Joe actually heard our Vet say, when looking at the x-rays, that she knows more about dogs than cats.  What!!  All the money we've spent on Onyx and she doesn't know that much about cats?!  So...we stopped in at the Highland Veterinary Clinic and met some of the staff there.  We signed up the cats and really felt good about them, AND they are only a mile away.  Time for a change.

  • I have my every-four-weeks facial tonight. Looking forward to that, and to hearing about Dawn's vacation.  This is a busy week. Tomorrow night I have my DAR meeting and Thursday night is my Human Resources chapter meeting.  Joe is going to that one with me, and we will have dinner there. Whew....

  • We DVR (record) most of the TV shows we watch, and can fast forward through commercials.  When watching a show 'live' we can't help but shake our heads at how stupid some of the commercials are.  Oh my goodness!!
That's enough for Tuesday Tidbits. I'm just rambling now!  Thanks for stopping in! Peace & hugs!

  2. Ramble on dear friend, I love hearing about your every day life. I dont blame you for changing vets. I am fortunate to have the one I use about a mile away and on the same street we live on. I havent taken down curtains or drapes in so long, I dont remember. Jim and I have come to the conclusion that if someone comes to our house and doesnt like it, so be it. We wont miss them. I am a watchaholic too and need some new faces. I buy at Cracker Barrel because they have bands of many colors and I love to change. Hope it isnt too rough being back at work after that extra day off.

  3. We record all of the shows we watch, too. I can't stand all of the commercials!!!

  4. And then some of the TV ads are better than the actual programmes, at least for me. I don't know why my brother-in-law doesn't do thet, because he refuses to let us see or hear a single one. Anyway in Spain the ads are in blocks. One of our channels doesn't show any ads at all during the programmes.

Washing of curtains is one of the chores that I should do more often too but did wash them during my holidays. Good that you've found a vet's that you like and so close to home. Hope you only need them for check-ups for a long time.

  5. Yep, agree about the commercials. Hope you find a vet soon. Have you checked at a college? I know ours offer vet care with our vet techs and the professors. Blessings

  7. I'm glad you found a vet you feel comfortable with. That's so important!
We use the DVR a lot too and I agree with you on the ads. :)

  8. I would feel upset about that comment the vet made also. I'm glad you're finding a new one. I have never had a facial. That sounds nice.

  9. I'm with you on the fast forward. When other people talk about commercials, I am pretty much in the dark.

I don't think I had told you how sorry I was to read about Onyx. It's so sad losing a beloved pet. And I would also be looking for a new vet.

I've only had one facial ever. It was wonderful so I'm not sure why I haven't had more of them. Enjoy.

  10. We aren't comfortable with our vet either. Going to try a different one when we get Annabelle's checkup and boosters. Hope to find a good when for when Daisy needs one again. Daisy isn't "normal" yet, but she's 16 human years, and loosing muscle; I think health issues are to be expected at this stage. I'm just not going to put her through painful treatments as long as she's feeling well, which she is. Congrats on your short week, hope you enjoy it. Friday will be here before you know it :) Hugs.
