Book Preference Meme

Welcome back to Sunday Stealing which originated on WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser. Here we will steal all types of memes from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent memes. You may have heard the expression, “honor amongst thieves”. In that age-old tradition, we try to credit the blog that we stole it from. We also provide a link to the victim's meme in our "Previous Victims" widget. (It's our way of saying "Thanks!") Sometimes we edit the original meme, to make it more relevant to our global players, to challenge our players, to select the best questions, or simply to make it less repetitive from this new meme or recently asked questions from a previously featured meme.
Cheers to all of us thieves!!!

Book Preference Meme

Stolen from: The now-defunct Tense Teacher

Science Fiction, Fantasy or Horror?  If I have to choose from these three, then Horror.

Hardback or Trade paperback or Mass market paperback?  I used to prefer hardbacks.

Amazon or Brick and Mortar?  Amazon.

Barnes & Noble or Borders?  We only have Books a Million here.

Bookmark or Dog-ear?  Bookmark

Asimov’s Science Fiction or Fantasy & Science Fiction?  I don't care for Science Fiction books.

Alphabetize by author, Alphabetize by title, or Random?  Random, when I had books for shelves!

Keep, Throw away or Sell?  Donate.

Keep dust-jacket or Toss it?   Keep.

Read with dustjacket or Remove it?  Remove.

Short story or Novel? Novel.

Stop reading when tired or at Chapter breaks? When tired.

“It was a dark and stormy night” or “Once upon a time?”  It was a dark and stormy night....

Buy or Borrow?  Buy.

Buying choice: Book Reviews, Recommendation or Browse?  Browse, but like recommendations.

Collection (short stories by the same author) or Anthology (short stories by different authors)?  I'm not into short stories, but I prefer books that progress through time with the same characters.

Tidy ending or Cliffhanger?  Tidy ending, unless the next book is out already so I can go right to it.

Morning reading, Afternoon reading or Nighttime reading?  Lunch break and bedtime, but I can read anytime I have a few minutes!

Standalone or Series?  Series, but standalones are good too.

Favorite book of which nobody else has heard?  Wanderers Eastward, Wanderers West, by Kathleen Winsor.  Wish it was digital now, so I could read it a 4th time.  It's been years, and I don't have the hardback anymore.

Favorite genre series?  Too many to mention all, but I loved Jan Karon's Fr. Tim series, and I LOVE Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series. Most recently I read all eight of the Outlander books by Diana Gabaldon. Excellent (and yes, we are watching the TV series on Starz!).

Currently Reading?  The Dead Red Cadillac, by RP Dahlke.  It's the first in a new series!!

That's my Sunday Stealing!!  Thanks for coming by. I wish you a good Sunday and a great week ahead!  Peace, love & hugs.

  1. I prefer paperbacks only cause they will fit in my purse and they aren't as heavy. I got rid of most of my books. do love my e-reader. I use the Kindle app. I get a lot of e-library books. I used to mainly read Horror but now I tend to read Thrillers. Have a great day!

  3. Very interesting post, Terri. I don't read as much as I once did. Thx for sharing about the current book you are reading. Hope you have a restful day.

  4. A wonderful post for Book Month, although it's Book Month for me every month. I think it's sad that there are fewer bookstores now. I know my sister and brother-in-law really miss Border's. I read on my Kindle or Ipad, but would love to have a real library. If only I had the space! Most of my books have been given away except for those I can't part with. I've just finished Jeremy Robinson's 'SecondWorld' and gave it 5 stars. Like you, I love Janet Evanovich. She is so funny! Thanks for your recommendations and have a good Sunday.
