Tidbit Tuesday....

  • It's another busy week at work.
  • BUT, it's a short week, since I have Friday off.
  • We are going down to Naples for the weekend!  Grandson time (and maybe Lauren, too!)!
  • Our neighbors got a new kitten, Bonnie.  They now have three kitties!
  • My old high school boyfriend, Archie, died yesterday. I wrote about him last week. :(
  • Is anyone else watching the new show called Battle Creek?  It's growing on me.
  • Is anyone else getting tired of Revenge?
  • Our AC is back on, keeping the house cool in these low 80 temps.  Seems like our winter is over.
  • Today, March 10th, would have been my little brother's 60th birthday, and also my grandpa's birthday. They always celebrated together.  Happy birthday in Heaven!!
  • Joe and I  are going to a Leadership Forum at Southeastern University, later this month.  We've gone the last two years and are looking forward to this year!  Two years ago, Sarah Palin was there and we had our picture taken with her!!! (She is TINY and wore five inch heels!)  Last year, Dr. Ben Carson was there. No picture, but wish we had one with him.  Amazing man. This year, Marcus Luttrell, of Lone Survivor fame, will be there (as well as five other speakers).  Looking forward to it!

Joe's brother, Lou, sent this very cute 'story' by email yesterday.  It made me chuckle, and I hope it does you, too.

The Winter Boots
(Anyone who has ever dressed a child will lose it!)

Did you hear about the teacher who was helping one of her pupils put on his boots?

He asked for help and she could see why.

Even with her pulling, and him pushing, the little boots still didn't want to go on.

By the time they got the second boot on, she had worked up a sweat.

She almost cried when the little boy said,
'Teacher, they're on the wrong feet.'
She looked, and sure enough, they were.

Unfortunately, it wasn't any easier pulling the boots off, than it was putting them on.

She managed to keep her cool as, together, they worked to get the boots back on, this time on the correct feet.

He then announced,
'These aren't my boots.'
She bit her tongue, rather than get right in his face and scream,
'Why didn't you say so?'
like she wanted to.

Once again, she struggled to help him pull the ill-fitting boots off his little feet.

No sooner had they got the boots off when he said,

'They're my brother's boots. But my Mom made me wear 'em today.'
Now she didn't know if she should laugh or cry.

But she mustered up what grace and courage she had left to wrestle the boots BACK onto his feet again.

Helping him into his coat, she asked,
'Now, where are your mittens?'
He said,
'I stuffed 'em in the toes of my boots.'
She'll be eligible for parole in three years.

That's enough for this Tuesday.  Hope yours is going well!!  Peace & hugs.

  1. Temps in low 80's sounds nice. We actually hit 50 yesterday. lol I can't wait for Spring.

  2. You know there's a big celebration in Heaven today! The joke reminds me of a similar one we look at when we're practising the possessive adjectives and pronouns. A little boy tells his teacher he can't find his red boots. She points out a pair to him to which he answers, 'Those aren't my boots. Mine had snow on them!' Hope your Tuesday is better than your Monday.

  6. Battle Creek is on my radar...I'm sure I'll get around to it pretty soon. I lost interest in Revenge a couple of seasons ago.
    Cute story! :)
