A Book Lover's Meme for Thursday....
Happy Thursday! I grabbed this meme from Kwizgiver's blog. She grabbed it elsewhere, but your can visit her HERE. I know most of my friends here are also readers!
1. Do you have a specific place for reading? I read in bed, but also during lunch, at work.
2. Book mark or random piece of paper? I read Kindle books on my little tablet, but use a bookmark in my Bible and in my daily devotional.
3. Can you just stop anywhere in a book or do you have to stop at the end of a chapter? I can just stop anywhere, but it does feel good to stop at the end of a chapter.
4. Do you eat or drink when reading? I read while I eat lunch, most days, at work.
5. Music or TV on when reading? Yes, because I actually concentrate better when there is something to shut out. Perhaps that sounds silly, but I've always been that way - even in high school when I had to do homework. Silence drives me crazy!
6. One book at a time or several? One book at a time, but I do read my Bible and my little devotional every night.
7. Reading at home or elsewhere? Anywhere! My Nexus tablet it in my purse all the time.
8. Read out loud or silently? Silently!
9. Do you read ahead or skip pages? I have to admit that I do, indeed, skip ahead and/or skip pages now and then. I get bored with pages of descriptions.
10. Breaking the spine or keeping it like new? I do my best to not break the spine, when I have a book that isn't digital.
11. Do you write in your books? My Bible is full of underlines and notes, as is my devotional. Other books, though, I do not write in (and can't, on my Kindle books).
12. Who are you tagging? I don't tag people, but will challenge you to answer three of these in your comments, if you want to participate.
Thanks for peeking in today! I appreciate your comments and your time!! Peace, love & hugs.

I love to read. I just don't seem to have enough time anymore to do it.
ReplyDelete1. I read anywhere. I read real books but also use Kindle on my tablet.
3. I can stop anywhere but try to finish a chapter.
6. I usually have one real book and a library book on my Kindle app.
Have a great day!
Oh how fun!
ReplyDelete1. I read the end of the book first (always have, always will.)
2. My Bible is highlighted and written in. I call that well loved.
3. I like silence, but it doesn't bother me, usually if there is background noise. I can't handle it though when ppl talk and the radio or TV is on at the same time.
Have a great Thursday! Blessings
i don't have a lot of physical books any more, but do care for the ones I've decided to keep. That means I don't eat or drink when I'm reading them. As a matter of fact, I don't eat and drink while I'm on the computer. When I'm at my sister's and need to use a computer, I use her laptop since their desktop's keyboard is sticky and full of crumbs. I try to shut out everything while reading and don't need extra distractions like the television or music. Most of all, I love love reading and your post has been very enjoyable to read!
ReplyDeleteReading is so important ---and I love hearing about young parents reading to their children and helping them to love reading!!!!
ReplyDeleteOne huge difference in George and me is that he is QUIET and I am NOISY. I love having TVs or radios on in every room. That drives him crazy... SO--for his sake, I have learned to be more quiet around the house... AND--the older I get, the more I appreciate the quietness.. In fact, I don't like going to restaurants (or anywhere) where there are LOUD people and obnoxious children... Guess I'm REALLY getting old. ha ha
Hugs,
Betsy
Hi Terri: I enjoyed your answers. I'll answer 3 per your challenge.
ReplyDelete#3. I too can stop anywhere in a book. I do prefer then end of a chapter, but really I don't mind stopping anywhere unless I'm almost finished. Then I hate to stop. :)
#5. I prefer silence when reading. I get distracted really easily.
#6. I have several books going right now, including my Bible and Gideon Bible Study. I'm reading Carol Burnett's newer autobiography and a fiction book that is the 3rd in the Defiance Texas Trilogy by Mary DeMuth.
There is nothing much better than getting involved in a really good book.
I love to read and I have a Kindle, but I still enjoy a real book. I use a random piece of paper and try to keep the spine in good condition.
