Tuesday Tidbits....

  • It was a wonderful, long weekend, but getting back to work always happens too fast.  Sometimes short weeks seem longer than a normal work-week. What's up with that?

  • There are only nine more days of school, here in Polk County. At one time in my life, I wanted to be an art teacher. Had that come to fruition, I would be looking at 2 1/2 months off, but then how hard would it be to go back to work?! I worked at a private high school, as business manager, for almost four years, and office staff didn't get the summer off. I actually loved going to work in the summer with no kids and no teachers! Ha! (Especially no kids!)
  •  Onyx is still missing Cookie. He has been sleeping in "her" bed. I was going to wash it yesterday, but told Joe we would give him another week with it.  Poor baby.
  • Joe and I both got some pool time in yesterday! I actually got a little sunburn. Joe cooked burgers on the grill and promised to grill out more this summer. Of course, we can grill year-round, and he did get a really nice gas grill a couple of years ago, that we have used (maybe) a half dozen times. I will try to remind him of his promise!
  •  Busy work week ahead with meetings and a couple of project deadlines. I'll need to stay on task to get it all done....
Thanks for stopping by! I am still trying to catch up on all the posts I missed. Reading some and not commenting, admit to skipping a few, but looking forward to your blogs today! Blessings!

  2. Let's talk about being behind. That would be me. Lots went on this past month and maybe life might get slightly normal since I am done babysitting for two months. School finished here last Friday. Ask Joe to do what our son-in-law does with the grill - - - - cooks a BUNCH at once and then freezes it so it can be pulled out and reheated later. My husband wanted to know if we wanted a grill after the other died and I told him, "No - - one more thing to clean. Plus I am the one to use it and I would rather be inside air-conditioning to do my cooking." What a Scrooge attitude of me. So glad to talk to you again. See ya soon. I might even get to post this week.

  3. I do believe this is the last week of school, they are getting out early due to the fact they didn't use many snow days, although they should of. I hope your sunburn isn't to bad. Blessings

  4. I know my sister Jackie uses her grill a lot. It helps not to heat up the kitchen, so you don't have to constantly run the air conditioner. From what I understand, teachers in the US also have to do courses in the summer. In our institute,we only had one month's paid holiday in the summer.
I feel so sad for poor Onyx. Is he eating okay? I hope and pray he feels better soon.

  5. We clear off the snow and fire up the bbq occasionally even in winter. In summer we use ours all the time. I love the change up in menu from season to season. Pool time sounds wonderful!

  6. Poor Onyx. Isn't that sad to watch. :-( You could always do art and sell it, make a fortune, quit your job, and move to Italy for further inspiration. LOL

    1. Starving artists....more of them than the ones with a fortune! Sounds wonderful, though! :)

  7. We had a lot of snow days so our kids are going for a while yet.
I agree on going back to work after a break. I would have a have a hard time after having the whole summer off.

  8. Pool time and burgers on the grill sounds nice :)

I used to work at school, as a parapro, and always enjoyed having summers and two weeks at Christmas off! It was the best of both worlds, free time and a pay check that kept on coming :)

  9. We have 9 days left too, well 8 after today. I can't wait because then my days working at the school are done for the summer too. I only clean houses 3 mornings a week during the summer so I can spend time with the kids. We grilled this weekend too. It was a beautiful weekend here. I know whenever I've lost a pet the other pet seems lost without them. I think they feel loss too. Did you hear about the donkey and goat (or some types of animals) that were in a hoarding situation and were removed and sent to different places? One of the animals stopped eating and they finally realized it missed the other animal so they got them back together and they are both happy again!
