Today is also our 29th wedding anniversary. If you are connected with me on Facebook, you have already seen my anniversary post. We actually went out to dinner on Friday night, as our 'anniversary' dinner out. Mayfaire ends today, and Joe and I will meet at Peking House for dinner. They do a Mother's Day buffet there that is pretty good, and they don't mind that I show up in a t-shirt and sweat-messed hair. (Sounds lovely, doesn't it!)
I have only gone out, around the festival, once today. My knee is not doing well. We rode the golf cart around and only walked a portion of the festival. I wanted to see a couple of the award winners, and they were mostly on one side, so that worked out okay. Joe and I had lunch and then I came back to the office. He headed home.
Here are just a few photos I took today.
The Florida Department of Transportation is one of our sponsors. We usually only see these advertising banners at the beaches, but this one flew over several times, yesterday and today. They are promoting bike and motorcycle safety.
Geico Insurance is also a sponsor, so the Geico Gecko was here, getting photographed with kids. He had to be hot in that outfit!! Bless him (or her!).
This was our view while we had lunch. The day started out cloudy, but the blue sky peeked out and it was really nice out there (if not a little hot).
One of the swans was coming out to see if anyone dropped any bread, I think. He was quite busy rearranging his feathers, and wouldn't pose for me, so this is the best I could get for you.

I look forward to seeing photos and hearing about your weekend and Mother's Day! I spoke with my grandmother this morning, had a text from son#2, and will most likely get a phone call from son#1 tonight. Peace, love, hugs and blessings!

Happy Mother's Day and Happy Anniversary. I think I mentioned this before, but I keep FB & Blogger private and seperate.
ReplyDeleteI think the universe has flipped, as my mother said she was washing the car. (my mother!!!)--and my dad was playing golf. Those two have def. gotten stranger in their old age (lololol). Blessings
I know it has been a good day, so am hoping when it all said and done, you can get home and rest that knee, as well as the rest of you too!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great day. Hope your knee feels better. Happy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! It sounds like it's been a good weekend for you, except your poor knee. I read the article on Mafaire and I would love to go to it!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your dinner! Nobody here dresses up to go to a Chinese restaurant. I'm sure even participants who didn't win anything at the Mayfaire were happy to have participated. Even though I imagine you enjoyed your weekend, i'll bet you're looking forward to getting back to normal.
ReplyDeleteMy little girls would be all over that gecko. They love giant costumed things, although the younger was afraid of them for the longest. Now it's the baby who's afraid. Happy Mother's Day and Happy Anniversary, and I'm sorry about that there knee. I'll be praying for you.
ReplyDeleteThose 2 young men are blessed to have you. I can tell those "love lines" are strong.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Mayfaire was a success and hope you had a great anniversary/Mother's Day.
Sounds like you had a busy but nice mother's day and anniversary Terri. Sorry that your knees are giving you such grief. I thought of you today when I got my first cortisone shot in my knee. Love your swan photo and I've always liked that cute gecko.
ReplyDeleteI don't remember hearing that you were a step-mom. God bless you.
ReplyDeletereminds me of an old song....Sunday Sweet Sunday with nothing to do
ReplyDeleteI love your saying about Love-ties. That's so true. You and my mom are proof of that, for sure.
