We are on our way to Naples, FL, today. I'll be away from Blogger until Sunday evening, but I'll have lots of photos (hopefully)!!
- Onyx is still missing Cookie. The other three don't seem concerned at all, but he is definitely missing her. She was his little girl, from the time we brought her home.
- We haven't had rain in a couple of weeks, and our pool needs to have some water added before we head out today. Need to get that done, like now!
- I love corn on the cob, and Publix has had some good deals on corn. I prefer yellow or bi-color corn, over the white corn - but I wouldn't turn down a good ear of white corn! LOL I grew up in Ohio corn country. My home-town has a Sweet Corn Festival every Labor Day weekend. I really love corn on the cob.
- My high school class is having its first reunion since we graduated, in 1970. Actually, it is a reunion for the classes of 1968, 69 and 70. Before you think it will be really crowded... there were 47 people in my senior class, and about the same in the other two. Unfortunately, I can't go. It is at the end of June, which is also the end of the Museum's fiscal year and the annual audit is in July. Lots of work to do for year-end. I could get away for a long weekend, but sure hate to spend $300-$400 for a plane ticket, and not get to visit my sister, sister-in-law and grandmother. Just can't do it this year.
- I am still thinking about how two of our favorite TV shows ended their seasons. Do you watch "Revenge" and/or "Grey's Anatomy". Wow, is all I can say. Can't wait for the new seasons, to see what happens!

ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend. I do miss Publix, we had one in Tuscaloosa..sorry about your HS reunion..our 30th is this year and we have never been to one yet. Neither of us are inclined to go. Blessings

ReplyDeleteBummer about the reunion. My class has had 3 already, 10, 15 and 25 but I didn't go. I see my friends and the class was too big to really know the others.

Have fun in Naples. I'm not sure I can make to Millersport in June either. We have 3 trips planned for OH this year to help Katie while she's in CA and MS, but none of them during that week.

ReplyDeleteI know my sister will buy some corn from one of the roadside stands when I go to Ohio in the summer. I'm sure I posted a photo of how she cooks it in the microwave with the husks on it. Poor Onyx. It's awful when our pets are sick or sad. Maybe you'll get him a new kitten. Enjoy your weekend. We'll look forward to seeing some photos.
ReplyDeletePoor Onyx. It always amazes me how some animals will mourn the loss of another. * I'm STILL in corn country and I love a good ear of corn with butter dripping down the chin and lots of salt & pepper. I haven't found any good sweet corn yet. I might at the Farmer's market next week.

Be safe and have a really good time. We feel so sorry for Onyx, poor baby. We still miss our Snookums and our cats still look for her. I love corn on the cob, can eat it any time, anywhere. :) I don't watch either of the TV shows. You also have a great Memorial Day weekend. Hugs
