Throwback Thursday and Tidbits....
Yesterday morning started at Southeastern University, for a conference on STEAM. Have you heard of that? Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics, and their importance in education. My boss, Claire, was one of the speakers, as well as our Mayor, Howard Wiggs, a couple of prominent businessmen, Bill Mutz and Todd Baylis, and the main speaker, Randy Cohen. It was interesting, but was sort of like preaching to the choir. Most in the audience were in the arts or supporters of the arts, and needed no more convincing. Here is my photo of Claire, during her speech. And here is the newspaper article about it, from this morning's Ledger.
That put me back at the office at nearly lunch time. Then, I had to leave early for a 3:00 dentist appointment. It was just my 6-month cleaning and no problems were found, but my day was pretty much unproductive, as far as my in-box goes.
Today is wide open, so I have a lot of catching up to do. Of course, I'll be in the office over the weekend, for Mayfaire, and I can use that time to catch up, too.
Here is the photo I'm using for Throwback Thursday. When I was in second grade, my cousin, Peggy, who was about six years older than me and my idol, got a pixie cut. It was all the rage, and I just HAD to have my hair cut like hers. My mom was not crazy about it, but let me get my hair cut in a pixie. She hated it, but I loved it. Preserved forever in my 2nd grade photo!! Ha!
Tonight is facial night. Ahhhhhhh.....
Thanks for peeking in today! Blessings!!

When I was at university, one of my friends and I used to compete with each other to see which one got her hair cut the shortest. I remember my father once asking me if I was wearing a wig. Short hair is so easy to manage.
ReplyDeleteSince I am a short, short hair person, I loved that style! You will certainly be a busy bee this weekend, but maybe have time to catch up as well. You have lots of meetings all the time....whew....makes me tired just thinking of all that you do. lol
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a full day!
ReplyDeleteLove the picture!
Your a busy bee, smiles. Love the Throwback picture..Blessings
ReplyDeleteHa! Terri, that pic is so cute!! Love your pixie cut. I never dared. :-) Hope you have a great Mayfaire weekend. And does your dental cleaning take an hour? Mine does. Every single time, it's a whole hour that they pick around on my teeth. Yikes. I've accused them of planting cavity seeds. ;-)
ReplyDeleteYes, Judy, it did seem to take about an hour. The dental tech does a good job, though. I've been blessed with good teeth, even if they are a bit crooked in front.
DeleteMy mom made me get a pixie cut until I was in 6th grade. Ugh I hated it. Made me look like a boy. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI remember the pixie. I didn't cut my hair that short, but I cut a lot of other girls' hair that short when I worked in the beauty shop. Some "girls" loved it so much they kept the style. I've been trying to remember the name of the actress that started it all. hahaha
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great weekend with the Mayfaire.
My what a busy lady you are sweet Terri. I always liked the pixie hair cut but I never had enough hair to be able to wear mine that way. Some people really wear one well and your cousin was one of them. Glad there were no problems found with your teeth. Have a great weekend and I hope you find some time to rest and relax. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteNon-eventful days are really sweet, aren't they :) Love seeing this picture of you. Didn't know you had a pixie cut. I got one from my sister when I was 6 ... a ducktail is what they called it. Dad was sooooo mad. Happy Weekend, Darlin'
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute photo! Our school district offers the STEAM program. I think it's a good program and families send their kids to our schools for it.
