We have a beautiful blue sky, just a few clouds, and a wonderful breeze today! Perfect for Mayfaire by-the-Lake!!
I'll just share some photos I took this morning. Joe has been here and gone, but I enjoyed a lunch snack with him before I came back to the office.
My knee did great during my first walk-about. The second round, however, was a different story. I think I am done walking for the day. For the first time, I started feeling the bones grinding a bit. Figured that was not a good thing to be feeling.
Our wonderful volunteers, at the T-Shirt Tent.
Our friends, Hattie & Murph, who came down from Michigan!
Co-workers, Loren and Adam.
Some of the art....
A view around the lake, at all the tents (164 tents!).
Hattie & Murph, with another friend, Al (seated).
Joe and me - hot and sweaty already (and oh-my-gosh, my hair is a mess!!).
There is entertainment all day long, from local groups, and the space is shady and comfortable!
This plant is growing beside one of the sidewalks. I have no idea what it is, but it is quite interesting!
And this one, too. Similar, but a little different.
The Children's Art Tent is always busy during Mayfaire, with take-home craft projects.
This is the daughter of my old boss (who moved to Chattanooga, TN), and her husband and new baby! It was so good to see them - they came over from Orlando, to go to Mayfaire. I got to hold Trent (after sanitizing!). I always laugh about new parents who make you sanitize before touching the baby. Wait until they have the next one!
My friend, Shirley, brought her son to Mayfaire. I had never met him, since he lives in Texas. I was happy to finally meet him and see her!!
So, there you have Mayfaire, on Saturday. It is going very well, so far.

I'm glad it's going so well and that you aren't baking! I wish your knee was doing as well as everything else.
ReplyDeleteI can see that this would be an event I'd enjoy!
This looks like a really fun event, something I would definitely make a point of attending if I were near it. I can't wait for the outdoor art fairs to start here. We have quite a few throughout the summer since this is such a big metropolitan area. I never made people sanitize before holding my babies but I know people that did. Yeah, baby #2 probably won't be so lucky. #2 gets gypped on a lot of things. lol! Looks like you got a beautiful day. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
ReplyDeleteAwesome..that looks like a fun event..so sorry about your knee. Great pictures, thanks for sharing. Blessings
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great time!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lovely day. We're cleaning out my moms basement this weekend which is not quite as much fun : ). Hope your knee isn't aching today!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the weather was nice, but sorry to hear about your knee. Sure hope it feels better. New parents have very strange beliefs sometimes. I remember one of my colleagues years ago wouldn't let anyone else hold her baby because she was afraid the baby wouldn't recognize her parents. Rubbish! Thanks for sharing some photos and Happy Anniversary.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!! I hope you and Joe have a great day. It looks like Mayfaire is a success. I had to chuckle about you having to sanitize before touching the baby. I agree with you... things change with the next one.
ReplyDeleteThose plants are very interesting. They must be native to hot, tropical climates. I'm sure they don't grow in Ohio.
Sorry to hear your knee didn't like the walking. I hope you aren't in a lot of pain now. Thanks for sharing the photos..
I can't wait for the fairs to start in this area. You reminded me they are coming. It is especiailly delicious to wander around fairs that you have no responsibility for, and can just be a visitor.
ReplyDeleteIt always looks like such a lovely event. So sorry your knees are giving you trouble, though. Love looking at your pictures.
