Another Throw Back Thursday....
Off to my second morning seminar this week. Yesterday's was by the Lakeland Police Department about how to handle (or react) to a shooter in your building. Six of us went, from the Museum. Two security guards and two of our maintenance guys, me, and our techie guy. It was frightening, but also interesting. Click HERE for the article in today's newspaper.
Today's seminar is being done by our audit firm, at the United Way building. My boss is also coming. The topic is Outcome Budgeting. Sounds lovely, and also somewhat frightening....but I'm looking forward to it.
I don't think I've posted this photo before. It is of me and my three siblings, and was taken in the very early 1980s - I'm guessing 1982. Don't you love the clothes and glasses?! I was still trying to straighten my hair, too! Ha! Notice my sister, Patti's hair, though. She wasn't afraid of curls.
And that is the way we looked back then! Makes me giggle. Thanks for checking in! Blessings to all!

Love your photo! I hate and have always been afraid of guns, so would have been frightened by the seminar too.
ReplyDeleteGreat pic! Have fun at this seminar!
ReplyDeleteGreat picture!! Thanks for sharing..the schools/colleges here have redman drills, you just never know, training is a good thing, in my opinion. Blessings
ReplyDeleteI have a gun, know how to shoot it, and pray to God I never have to. Hope today's seminar is a good one. Love the picture. You had a good looking family dear friend. (I used to straighten my hair too...lol)
ReplyDeleteI have my concealed permit, and would not hesitate to use a weapon for protection. Our instructor told us several times he supports the NRA and believes in the 2nd amendment. "We" are not the problem. If someone wants to commit a crime (or go on a shooting rampage) they will have the weapons, whether they are legal or not.
DeleteI love the photo. Your sister Patti looks lit from within...like she'd just be a barrel of laughs.
ReplyDeletePatti is lots of fun, and so is my sister Tammy, and so was my brother, Randy. We ARE a fun bunch to be around! Lots of laughter.
DeleteThat's a good looking bunch - and you all look like you know how to have fun too!
ReplyDeleteHave fun at the seminar. I don't think it would be a good one for me. :)
Looks like you were all blessed with curls. They're pretty. A lot of women, including myself, have spent a lot of money trying to get curls in our "straight as a stick" hair.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a good time at the seminar. The first one sounds like they had some very good advice. Or I hope so. Scary subject but our society today is so different, we need to understand the unexpected.
Big hair...big glasses and a blast from the past. LOVE all the smiles tho, happy siblings!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun photo that is, Terri! I have similar photos of the family during those 80s years. And I still have the plum frizze carpet which DESperately needs to be ripped out, for Pete's sake! lol
ReplyDeleteThose seminars sound like they would be interesting. I remember those glasses sweet Terri, I had some but never let anyone take my picture in them. I do have a picture of my mom in some though and they cover a large portion of her face. I think that is a very nice picture of the four of you, beautiful smiles and you all look very happy. Hugs
ReplyDeleteIt's so scary that we have to prepare for those type of situations now. Oh, the 80's! I can definitely see the look in the photo.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture of you guys, Terri. I remember my 1st pair of "big" glasses. I came home and my good friend took one look at me and started laughing like crazy....she said I looked like a bug ..... and I did :)
