Tuesday Tidbits....

Good morning, on this Tuesday before Easter.  My computer is working a little better, but is on its way out. Our techie guy says the processor is going. The hard drive is okay, but the processor should be functioning at 6.0 and is going 2.5 (whatever that means). I backed up my accounting data last night, even though it is also backed up by Carbonite.  Carbonite is amazing, if you want an easy way to back up your computer - pictures and data. We have been using it for 5-6 years now.  I don't worry about lost data anymore.

My new phone came in and we went to pick it up last night. I got the new Galaxy S5.  Let me just say that it is AMAZING.  It has an 18 megapix camera - better than my point-and-shoot, which is only 10.  It is water proof!  It can do split screen....I haven't even discovered all it can do yet. Joe got my Galaxy SII, and he is turning his old Motorola into the Police Dept., for battered women. AND, our monthly bill is going down by $40 a month, and there is no contract anymore, with Sprint. Yippee!

Today is tax day.  Joe is a CPA, and though he considers himself semi-retired, he has 48 tax returns this year. Last year, he did a little over 30. I told him he needs to learn to say no, or he will have to rent an office again! It is good for him, though. He really does love engaging with his clients, and he has several who just won't let him go. It's all good, and the extra income has allowed us to do the floors and the screening...those extras that we couldn't afford otherwise.

I'm going to stop at that.  Not much else to report. Work is crazy busy, and I need to start planning Easter dinner around the ham that is already in the refrigerator, waiting for Sunday.  Helen and Cheryl are coming around 1:00, and are bringing dessert.

Thanks for stopping by!! Peace, love & hugs.

  2. The phone sounds fantastic. I still have the old flip phone, no texting or long distance and my charge is 39.95 with Sprint which with all the taxes, etc. comes to 56.97. Sure hate to hear about your computer...guess it is time to check on buying a new one. Have a good afternoon.

  3. I am proud of us for loving technology and being willing and able to learn it. I know some people younger than us who haven't learned the computer - - and one of them wonders why she can't get a better job. More and more jobs require that computer knowledge now. New phones are amazing. We are due for upgrades soon but are holding out as long as possible. Sorry about the computer. Glad you found out before it died though.

  4. So true, that prayer is the most important conversation with which to start one's day. First of all, with thanksgiving to our Creator God for all His many blessings and the new day and life in which to enjoy and delight in Him.

Congrats re. the new phone. I haven't even read the book (online, of course) that's the guide to my phone. Most of what I know is from just doing it and seeing what happens! Yikes! :-)

  5. LOL While I was reading about your new Galaxy, the news anchor was giving a review on the new phone. They gave it high ratings.
It sounds like you better start window shopping for a new computer. That's a bummer.
I learned last night that our plans for Easter dinner may change back after all. Hope you have a good one.

  6. Lucky you! I really like that phone. It has two cameras, hasn't it? I'm in the middle of straightening up my bedroom, but thought I'd take a short break. When I finish I'm going to put together a nice (I hope) stir-fry for dinner. Enjoy the rest of your day.

  10. It's fun to get a new phone, sounds like you found a winner. I say work as long as we can, as long as we enjoy what we're doing - the longer we can keep our brains and bodies active the better off we'll be.
