Friday, Friday....
Oh my goodness, where did this day go?
We had such a good time at the hockey game, last night, even though the Flyers lost 4-2. Disappointing, but still a good time! The Flyers are in the playoffs, so Joe isn't feeling too badly about the loss. It just would have been nice to be there for a win.
The tickets were free, and were Club Tickets. We weren't real sure what that meant, but now we are spoiled for going any other way. Premium entrance, escalator instead of stairs, and all the food and drinks you want - free. Oh, and parking was free, in the garage right next to the stadium. Wow. There were food stations around every turn. BBQ ribs, pulled pork, pot pies, mac & cheese, salads, desserts, munchie type snacks, an ice cream bar, and fancy restrooms. Joe had a beer, I had water, but a waitress served us! The seats were upholstered...... I didn't know a sports stadium could be so comfy and cushy! Now that we know how the other half lives, it will be hard to sit in those other seats! LOL
We also got a surprise when my boss's friend, George, had a seat right next to ours. That was fun! I said I was the rose between two thorns!
I'm so happy I took today off, from work. Got to sleep in. We took my car to our mechanic last night, on the way to Tampa. The air conditioning fan wasn't working. It's been going off, then on, now and then, for a couple of years. Every time I took it in, it was working. This time, it went off and never came back on. Joe thought it was just a motor for the blower/fan, so our fingers were crossed that it wouldn't cost too much. Our mechanic called at 10:00 to say it was done. WOW. It was the wiring. He said it is pretty common, and that this time, it had burned all the way through. What could have been horrendous was only $85.00.
Now, my sun roof isn't working. It won't close all the way, so I am really stuck. If it rains, I'm in big trouble. It will be back to the shop next week. I'm thinking duct tape until then. If it's not one thing, it's another.
We did a little shopping today, and we went to our church for the Friday Fish Fry, for dinner. The Knights of Columbus do the cooking, and it was good!!
Wishing you a good weekend!! Thanks for stopping by. Peace, love & hugs.

They are some great game perks! Glad you had a fun time.
ReplyDeleteWe have a squeaky belt on our car and every time we take it in it is quiet. Funny how they do that when at the mechanic lol Glad you got it fixed. I never had a stuck sunroof. Hopefully that is a quick cheap fix for you
OH what fun. I love hockey. Glad your ac wasn't to much.Blessings
ReplyDeleteHow do you get free tickets with all those perks?
ReplyDeleteHubby would have loved the hockey game! UGH, car troubles. I had mine this week too. If it's not one thing it's another.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun way to see the game! How did you get free tickets?
ReplyDeleteGood news on the air conditioning - that's a bargain price for having your car worked on. :)
My new (used) car doesn't have a power moon roof like my old car did. I miss it already. Have great weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice surprise when you got to the stadium. I have never been to or watched a hockey game, but those that do and have, love the game. I cant imagine having that type food at a football or basketball game. Sounds so good. Sure glad you got the a/c repaired and hope you can get the sunroof fixed for a small amount too! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteWow, how did you guys score such fine seating? With your bum knee, this was truly a blessing. Glad you had a good time. Glad that blower issue was just the wiring....whew!
ReplyDeleteThe hockey tickets were donated to the Museum for our Gala silent auction fund raiser. The tickets didn't sell, and the person who donated them said to give them away. When I got wind of it, I grabbed two of the four tickets for us. Whew....glad there aren't too many hockey fans to compete for them!! So - that's how we got them.
ReplyDeleteOh, and Joe found instructions for how to reset the motor on the sun roof. He took the panel apart and followed the instructions - it now works like new!! Yippeee!! He just accomplished that this morning.
DeleteGoodness! Now it'll be first class at the stadium. The other half does have their own perks. It's good that you got your car's wiring fixed because from the way it sounds, it could have caused some really bad damage. When it rains, it pours.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you didn't have to use your duct tape. I've never been to a hockey match, but now I think I'd like to if the tickets are premium, that is. Hope you enjoyed your day off.
ReplyDeleteSo you had a nice time - and I love the new change on your blog - very springy. sandie
