Easter Monday....

Today is a holiday (day off from work) for me. So happy about that!

Have you heard that Coldwater Creek is going bankrupt and out of business?  It has always been one of my favorite places to shop (the outlets and sale racks, I should add). Since family and friends know about that, I frequently get gift cards to Coldwater Creek. Now, the race is on to get them spent!!

Joe and I are driving over to Orlando this morning, to visit the Coldwater Creek outlet. Wish me luck. I hope to come back with bags full of goodies for my $150!! I'll keep you posted.

We had a very nice Easter dinner with Helen and Cheryl.  Gregory did not come. I really didn't expect him, though I hoped he would not have a migraine and would come by for a home-cooked meal.  Dinner was good, if I do say so myself. I put a ham in the crock pot, and made sweet potatoes, with marshmallows. We also had corn and a mixed veggie dish, coleslaw, raw veggie plate, rolls, and jello salad. Helen and Cheryl brought dessert - mixed berry pie and a chocolate eclair cake, both of which were delicious! Needless to say, there were leftovers to share.

When we get back from Orlando, I have laundry to do. Fortunately, we cleaned the house good on Saturday, so won't have to revisit the mop and dust rag.

Oh, I need to report that Vinny got baptized on Easter Sunday! He fell in our swimming pool! Joe is the one who said he got baptized! Made me laugh.  The wet and cold kitty ran through the house, dripping water everywhere. Thankfully, he didn't jump on the table, which was already set for dinner! I did have to get out the mop and sop up the water trails. I was able to get him wrapped in a towel, and held him for awhile. He seems to be fine, now, like nothing happened. I bet he takes better care around the water now, anyway!

It was good to talk with my sisters and grandmother today. Our youngest, Jeff, called this evening. We texted holiday greetings with Tristan and Kathy. I miss family the most on holidays.

Wishing you a good Monday and week ahead!!

  1. I hope you have a successful shopping trip. I do not like shopping for clothes. It seems difficult to find something that looks half as good on me as it does on the hanger!
So glad you had a nice Easter dinner celebration. Ours was good, too.
Did Vinny get out of the pool on his own or did he have to be fished out? Glad he didn't drown on you all. There went another of his nine lives.

    1. He got out on his own. Cats can swim, so I don't worry about them around the pool. They just don't like it! All of ours have fallen in at least once, now, except Lucy. She is a very graceful girl, and has avoided going in, so far.

  2. Good luck shopping today. Your Easter dinner sounds so good and glad your friends could enjoy it with you and Joe. Poor Vinny, guess that 'dunking' made him officially a part of the family....lol

  5. Sounds like a delicious Easter dinner, Terri! I have never even thought of putting a ham in the crock pot! Great idea. Vinny should have been sprinkled instead. ;-)

  7. Too bad your favourite shop is going out of business, but maybe you'll get an entire wardrobe for your money. When I was in high school and college, I loved J C Penney. Of course, that was when things were made in the USA and not in sweat shops.
Poor Vinny! Your dinner sounds delicious though!

  8. So glad you had a good Easter Sunday. Your dinner sounds delicious. I've never fixed a ham in the crockpot, but it probably would be good, keep it nice and moist. Poor Vinny. I can see it now. It's so funny when they run, trying to get away from it and can't. My cat would have a horrible fit. Hope you have a great time shopping and bring home lots of goodies.

  9. I hope you find lots of good things on your trip.
    Your dinner sounds yummy!
I have to admit that while I felt bad for Vinny, I did laugh. I pictured what our Oliver would be like in that situation.

Your Easter meal sounds delicious. We had Chocolate Eclair Cake, too!!!
Sorry about Vinny's 'baptism'. I know how most kittys feel about water!

  11. Funny story about Vinny. I'm sure he'll be much more cautious the next time. One of our cats loved to walk around the rim of the tub while I took a bath, then we moved and the new tub didn't have much room on the wall-side. So, one day she lost her footing and joined me in the tub, much to both of our chagrins. She decided after that it was wiser to just settle one one spot and play with the water on the safe side :) Fun memories of our kitties' adventures.
