Monday's Quiz About Me....

Welcome to Monday Quiz About Me - hosted by Heather & Wayne from Acting Balanced.

Here are FOUR QUESTIONS that everyone can answer and then you have the option to add a fifth question of your own for those who are visiting your blog to answer in the comment section, along with commenting on the four standard questions you answered!

1. National frozen food day is this week - are you a big frozen food shopper?  Do you freeze your own veggies or fruit?  I prefer frozen vegetables, and love the ones that come in steamer bags.  I do not freeze my own veggies or fruit.

2. What annoys you?  My biggest pet peeve is people who are late.  I also get annoyed at people driving a car, but paying more attention to their phone, or something under the seat (etc.).

3. It's Wine and Food Festival week here in Charleston, do you have a favorite type of wine? I enjoy Pinot Noir. If that isn't available, I'll have a Merlot. I prefer red wine.

4. What do you think is an appropriate age for a first cell phone? Since I don't have little ones, I can't answer this question, other than to say I think it depends on the child, the family and the family's circumstances.

My 5th question for you is, Did you watch the Oscars and were you pleased or surprised with any of the results?

Thanks for stopping in!! Hope you are having a good Monday!! Peace, love & hugs.

  1. I freeze fruit for smoothies in the summer. I can't stand people that are late. My hubby is one of them. Drives me crazy! I didn't watch the Oscars. Have a great day!

  3. I like frozen vegetables, except for green beans. They seem to get rubbery when frozen, so I like to can those. I'm with you on the being late thing. I don't know why it is that some people can never arrive at anything on time. I always wonder if it's a power issue. For sure, it seems inconsiderate of others to arrive late. I didn't see the Oscars. I was watching a George Gently mystery. :-)

  4. Sorry... I didn't finish, and it forced me to publish. Weird.

I rarely drink, but when I do, I like merlot.

Canned asparagus... Yes, I know I am strange that way...and frozen Brussels sprouts.

No, I no longer watch the Oscars because I don't like the current slate of actors or movies. I tend to watch the classics. I prefer British actors these days.

  5. I dont like late arrivers either; I buy veggies either fresh and cook them right away and if any left, freeze them. Dont buy pre-frozen. My daughter allows her girls to have a cell phone at 13, mostly so they can get in touch with her if necessary, and thankfully they havent abused it yet. I didnt watch the Oscars. I dont go to movies any more and most of them are not my taste anyway.

  7. I prefer fresh veg's but frozen ones are good in a pinch. Haven't attempted to freeze my own. Yet. That could be disaster in the making. *lol*

We have the same pet peeves. Distracted drivers are deadly.

I mostly drink dark beer or imported beer but when I have wine it's always Sutter Home White Zinfandel. It's so good, it's even palatable warm. Hubby prefers the Sutter Home Merlot.

Never watch the Oscars. I don't care about people who hate my country do or say. I can't wait for computer animation to put them all out of business. (It's coming, you know.)

Personally, I don't think it's good for children to have anything electronic but that's just my opinion. I grew up without it. I think kids are better off using their heads and playing outside more. ~:)

  8. I freeze strawberries and blueberries if they don't all get eaten while fresh and use them in my smoothies. Fresh corn on the cob, broccoli, green beans, asparagus are great, but I always have frozen corn and peas on hand to cook.

Cell phones for kids? I understand parental concern for their safety, but all the texting and the possibilities of what they are sending and receiving is scary to think about. I think I would limit the phone to strictly being a phone.

I refuse to watch the Oscars. We seldom go to movies and the majority of Hollywood's arrogant liberals who haven't a clue about "real people" and who consider themselves to be artists when ... Oh gee, I could go on and on and on. And maybe this is really my pet peeve!

  9. I'm constantly almost run down by those pedestrians who can't be bothered to look away from their phones, and can't stand people who drive and text or check their facebook. And I hate arriving late too.

  10. I like frozen veggies too, and I also buy them. My pet peeve is rude people! I didn't watch the Oscars but did see Matthew McConaughey's speech and enjoyed it!

  11. I LOVE the steamer bags of frozen veggies! They are delish! But I'm trying to do more fresh produce.

I never watch the Oscars, but there was nothing else interesting on last night, so I decided to check out the fashions. I was surprised that Sandra Bullock didn't win best actress or "Gravity" best film, since Gravity won absolutely everything else! LOL The only movie I had seen was "Frozen." Which is more than I've usually seen. The Oscar movies are typically so stuffy and "important." Nothing I'd care to see.

  12. Hi Terri! I prefer frozen veggies too. I agree, people who are late are annoying. I especially don't like it when I am hosting a holiday and I let everyone know when dinner will be ready and they are late..ughh. I did watch the Oscar's and I thought it was entertaining. I love Ellen! We rented 12 Years A Slave before the Oscars started. It deserved to win in my opinion. Love your background, Terri! Have a great week!
