Monday, Monday....

It's been awhile since I was really glad a weekend was over, but I am glad the weekend is over!! LOL

I'm sorry I've been absent and haven't even begun to catch up on blogs (40 still sitting there in my Feedly), but I will get there. I am happy to report that our house is back to being our home, now! We finally got everything back in place, and most of the junk sorted through. I was exhausted at the end of the day, yesterday. Clean up also included hosing down the pool deck, as well as mega-dusting and mopping inside. Three (almost 4) weeks of nothing getting our attention left all kinds of dirt to deal with, not to mention all the tracking in and carpet removal dust. The mop water was muddy. Seriously. I've never had my house that dirty before. Sounds awful, and it was. Was - hallelujah!!

My craft and jewelry supplies have not gotten the attention they need, but they are out of sight and will wait for our company to disburse. I still have boxes of photos to sort through. They can also wait. I intend to enjoy our visitors, and not worry about what is left to do, until after they are gone. My sister, Tammy, is coming down prepared to take "stuff" back with her. She and her husband have a consignment spot in a warehouse consignment co-op kind of place, and she is excellent at refurbishing and re-purposing things to sell in their shop. What she doesn't want will go to Salvation Army or Lighthouse Ministries. I refuse to look at that pile, which is still on the back patio, again.

We still have curtains to iron and hang in Joe's office, and some pictures to put on the walls in there. I didn't want to hang pictures until the curtains are up....tonight, I hope.

Oh - Friday's trip to Pompano Beach, went well. Seems like a month ago, instead of just a couple of days ago. We arrived shortly after 10:00 (3 hours plus a few minutes, one way).  Traffic on the Turnpike was good. It is worth paying the tolls, to not fight the traffic on I-95!! Joe got his work done by 4:15, which was great. The weather was good and the traffic going home was good. I got a lot of reading done and we had lunch at a Mexican restaurant (which wasn't very good) and dinner at one of the Turnpike rest areas. The one at Ft. Drum is newly renovated and actually quite nice, with several choices of restaurants, and even a Brookstone store! Hate to say it was the highlight of the trip, but it was! LOL

So - back at work and back to some normalcy at home. Feels good.  I've missed being here!! Thanks for stopping by! Forgive my tardy responses to your blogs.  Peace, love & hugs!!

  3. Sometimes it's hard to get back into the groove, but always good to be home, isn't it.I think your sister should come here and pick up a load of stuff that should be elsewhere. Maybe this spring I'll start going through things. lol

  4. It's been awhile since I was really glad a weekend was over, but I am glad the weekend is over. Now, you know what it's like to be retired! It's always nice when everyone else is back to work and off the roads. (I'm such a curmudgeon.) *LOL*

I can't stand it when my house is in upheaval either. Bet you'll be glad to have everything where it belongs again. It'll be nice to see photos of all your work when done. Bet it'll look super. ~:)

  13. Were the cats intrigued by all the "apple cart turnover" and activity? Isn't it amazing when you write the words of all you did that it doesn't even begin to convey the amount of energy you expended?!!!! About your less than satisfactory lunch - - - I hate when that happens on a trip. Eating someplace different is one of the highlights and should live up to our expectations!
