Well, we are watching the Super Bowl, like most folks tonight. I don't really care who wins, but it would sure be nice if the game was exciting. This is a sorry excuse for a football game. And I didn't think much of the half-time show either. I'm too old for that kind of "music" and would much prefer seeing a great marching band perform for halftime.
Joe and I worked hard this morning, getting all the furniture out of our bedroom (except the bed). Now the living room it packed, as well as the dining room. I am so ready for this mess to be over!! Y'all have to be tired of reading my complaints about it, too!
That's all for tonight. I just read the questions for the Monday Quiz About Me, and have decided to pass on it. Instead I will hopefully have some photos of new floors!!
Wishing you a good week ahead!! Thanks for stopping by! Peace, love & hugs.
You aren't complaining about the floors - - - just giving updates and we can definitely commiserate with you since most of us have been through some sort of construction in our homes. It wears a person down and really messes up the routine our body is used to. About the football game - - and most people know I don't care a thing about football - - - even I was surprised at the score. Bill said it should have been a much closer competition, too. Who knows what happened. Sad for all though. I am with you on the marching bands for entertainment. Not too many good commercials either - - - except the one of the returning soldier and him on the wagon drawn by the Clydesdales.
ReplyDeleteAnd I just saw the Clydesdales and the puppy which was also adorable. The Ford truck with the cattle was pretty cute, too.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't much competition. I liked Bruno Mars and the Budweiser ads are always good.
ReplyDeleteOld Man Watching is watching the Super Bowl but even he is not impressed and keeps flipping back to the Canadian Women's Curling Tournament called the Tournament of Hearts. I have visitors for dinner at half time so missed the show but know I would agree with you. I love military bands as my dad was in the navy and we lived in married quarters and could see/hear the bands practicing on the soccer field all the time. One of my favourite memories is of a Battle of Atlantic Sunday which was always held outdoors for some reason (maybe the loud bands and marching) and one year Prince Philip attended and he walked right by me and talked to some of my family. I didn't know of any Hollywood type folk to idolize at the time before TV but had seen lots of pictures of the royal family as my Nanny scrapbooked about them from newspaper and magazine pictures. And then my Nanny discovered movie magazines. I am trying to remember the name of the first one that got her hooked. It was in the 50's. Photoplay and Life, I think. Ah....you are so good at triggering my old memories. You take me dancing down memory lane.
ReplyDeleteMost of us have been thru these updates/remodels and we know how stressful it is. Wishing you the best with the floors.
ReplyDeleteI hate that you are stressed over the mess, but just look at it this way.....today, it will be done and things will quickly go back in order and it will look brand new! Cant wait to see the pictures.
ReplyDeleteI didn't watch the game. Can't wait to see pics of your new floor
ReplyDeleteI don't watch football - you are a good wife. sandie
ReplyDeleteApparently, you're not the only one who was disappointed in the StuporBowl. Glad I'm not a football fan. Living in a remodel is stressful. I pray that this is over for y'all soon. We still need to pull up the rest of the carpeting and put down Pergo. In my next life (giggle) I will never use carpeting again. Too much work with pets, etc. God bless. ~:)
ReplyDeleteYou know what's sad? I knew who the Super Bowl entertainment was, lol (thanks to my son).----I am glad Seattle won, only to the fact of Percy Harvin/Unif of FL grad. I can't wait to see the pictures of your floors. Blessings
ReplyDeleteGlad we in Europe didn't miss anything except the ads that I know people will put on facebook or youtube. Your house is going to look lovely very soon!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it IS a tiring mess...and I KNOW you'll be glad it's done. But when it is done, you're gonna love the 'new look'. And I can't wait.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts were the same as yours, regarding the football game AND the half-time show.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see your 'after' pictures when your floors are all done!
That game last night was a big disappointment for so many. I waited until it was all over and then I checked the score. I couldn't watch it or the half-time show. Did you hear all the out-raged people talk about the Coke commercial during the game? That was a slap in the face.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good week.
We watched from start to finish. We wanted the Broncos to win. I like several players from the Seahawks, but I'd have loved to see Peyton Manning with a Super Bowl win. He is a player with a lot of heart and integrity on and off the field. It was a hard game to watch, but sometimes life just happens and it isn't as great as we hoped it would be. The Broncos had a great season and unfortunately it just didn't end the way they had hoped. Ava and I both loved the half-time show...much better than in the last several years. We are Bruno Mars fans. Could have lived without seeing the Red Hot Chili Peppers shirtless or even performing, but I think Bruno Mars did a great job. Ava was like Mom I've been waiting forever to see this half-time show...she has been excited since she first heard he was performing at the Super Bowl so long ago. lol I hope all is going smoothly with the floors. Can't wait to see updated photos of the new floors installed. :)
ReplyDeleteWe are probably one of the very few that enjoyed the Super Bowl game. Mostly because the kids came over and we had a little party..lol. We were rooting for the Sea Hawks so that was another plus for us. I love your background! So Spring-ish!
