Simply Saturday...

Well, the best laid plans....

Our intention to get out early, found us finally out the door at 9:45.  Just a lazy morning getting started.  So, we crossed off getting to the Museum for the coffee time with our artist friend.  We headed on downtown, meaning to go to Mitchells Coffee House for breakfast and to see my co-workers art work.  The line was out the door and there were no tables...so that got crossed off the list, too.

We DID spend some time at the Farmer's Market and made a couple of purchases. It was crowded and three-blocks long. I love that our city closes the streets every Saturday morning for this. We Lakelanders do enjoy it.

We left there, and stopped in at a local icon - Reececliff Restaurant. It has been in the same location for about 50 years, I think. I've mentioned it before, because Helen and I meet there for lunch now and then. The late breakfast (Joe called it brunch) was really good.

We are now just hanging out at home, waiting for time to head for church. We enjoy the 4:00 Vigil Mass at our new old church. Joe mailed the registration form in, and we should get our envelopes soon.  He has to call our old church and resign from the Finance Committee, and tell them to remove us from their records.

Our temps are still hot and it is still too humid to enjoy being outside for long. I love hearing about the comfortable temps 'up north'. Enjoy it!!

Peace, love & hugs!

  1. I enjoy our farmer's market here too, but it's nothing like that. Sorry your plans didn't come out like you wanted, but it still sounds like you've been having a good day. ♥

  2. Sorry you didnt get to see your friends and the art, but the farmers market looks so good. Wish we had something like that here. It has been a glorious day, weather wise and am enjoying it so much. I know you will receive a blessing at church. Hugs

  5. Argh! Why didn't I think of the Farmer's Market here? The closest produce stand to my house closes after peach season, even though they carry all kinds of produce. So yesterday, when I wanted fresh produce, I couldn't think of any other place besides the grocery store. SIGH. The Farmer's Market is farther away, but I bet they are still open.

I guess I should have read your blog yesterday, oh but I was already out the door before you posted it!
