Tuesday Tidbits.....

  • Regarding yesterday's post, Joe DID do the grocery shopping yesterday afternoon, bless his heart!  Then took me out to IHOP for dinner when I got home from work.
  • Tuesday finds me back in the swing of things. Work is a little crazy right now, and whatever I have planned can change in a blink. Yesterday, instead of finishing the July financials, I had to make a special report for a meeting today, with the Board President. Got it done, but little else, which means I am still catching up from being out last week.
  • The auditors presented the draft audit to my boss and me yesterday afternoon. It was nice to hear their good report. It's a clean audit with no management letter. Hooray!
  • I had my third cup of coffee this morning, and then caught myself yawning. How can that be, with three cups of dark Sumatra in me?!
  • I know I will need new glasses when I get my eyes checked next month. I really have trouble with my current glasses. Not happy. Getting old(er).
  • Next week marks 10 years since I lost my baby brother to cancer. I can't believe 10 years have gone by without him. He was only 48, and left behind a 10 year old son and 15 year old daughter, as well as his wonderful wife.  Jo Anne is a teacher at a Christian school, now. Michael is at Ohio State, in pre-med, and Sara just graduated from Ohio University with a teaching degree. My brother would be so proud of his family. Miss him so much.
  • Have I ever mentioned that I am a member of DAR? I intend to become a little more involved this year. Meetings start in September. I love genealogy and have a few more lines to prove, with ancestors who fought in the Revolution. I need to get active and get started again.
  • I also re-joined ABWA (American Business Women's Association) and want to get active with them again, too. When I went back to school (college) 13 years ago (!!!) I dropped out of a lot of organizations. Past time to get involved in the community again. Stay tuned!
Wishing you a good evening!!  Tomorrow is Hodgepodge Wednesday! I'm already working on my answers! Join in the fun!!  HodgePodge Questions

Peace, love & hugs!

  1. I'll look forward to tomorrow's hodgepodge. I'm glad you're not having too many problems getting caught up.

Terri, did you see the book that I posted on facebook called Word Up? I don"t know if it's still free, but it sounds like a handy book to have.

Saturday is the 10th anniversary of my mother's death. Of course, I"ll be thinking of her and missing her as I know you do your brother.

    1. I did see it, Brenda, but then forgot to check out the link. I'll call up your page and see if it is still free (or not too expensive). Thanks!

  2. Hooray for a clean report and Joe getting groceries! Sorry to hear about your brother. He was far too young, but it sounds like he left a great legacy.

  3. Yay for Joe doing grocery shopping. My hubby is doing ours as I type this. ;)

I need to get glasses. I know I need bifocals. Right now I get by with reading glasses. Never had a problem with my eyes until 3 years ago. Darn old age! lol

  4. Your brother would be very proud of his family. I'm sorry for the loss each of you must feel.

We had a late lunch at IHOP today - from 3 - 10 it is half price for seniors!

    Best wishes at work.

  5. I admire you and others who do get involved in community. I am basically shy, if you can believe that, and dont enjoy being in crowds or in front of people. One on one for me is all I can handle. I know your brother would be proud of his family and their accomplishments.

  6. It's so sad when that disease takes our family members at a young age. Your brother would be so proud of his family.
That's great the audit came out so well. You should feel a sense of accomplishment.
I have some ancestors that fought in the American Revolution. I never thought of joining the DAR. Good idea.

  7. Hooray for Joe's wonderful food help - - both the store and eating out! Hooray for the clean audit, too! That is so sad about your brother but many wonderful things his family has accomplished. Is there any study that has included you all being siblings and both having cancer? Like it is possible gene predisposition or just coincidence or environmental?
Whew - - - you make me tired with the club activity about to pick up but sounds like you love it. Guess I am still enjoying NOT being too busy. It hasn't been a full year yet that I left work so that might have something to do with it. My last year was very tough - - - some because of health issues tiring me out.
